From Dan Rafael's twitter Officials for #DonaireRigondeaux: referee Benjy Esteves, judges John Stewart, Tom Schreck, Julie Lederman. #boxing
Good ref. Very important in this fight. He'll be fair. I have confidence in Julie Lederman and John Stewart, but I'm not so sure about Tom Schreck.
I put 50 quid on Rigo stoppage 11/2 @ skybet, didn't realize I left it in my account and odds like this are what forgotten about funds in accounts are for.
If Rigo of all people manages to stop Donaire of all people, I would be :scaredas: 11/2 doesn't sound good enough for me given how unlikely I think it is...more like 11/1 for me.
I genuinely think any result is possible and the percentages attached to each are fairly evenly spread too. It could end in any round as well, Donaire could easily walk onto something and underestimate Rigondeaux's power here, and we know about Donaire's fight ending ability. But interestingly a lot of that ability is not when he's coming forward desperately, trying to impress, it comes out naturally. Thats important, I don't think Rigondeaux will give him a chance to land an Arce/Darchinyan punch. I just get this nagging feeling Donaire could get sparked clean out. He's got to be careful he doesn't go balls to the wall in this one.
skill, speed, timing, reflexes,co-ordination and reach I can't see how a bigger back etc gives you an advantage
This is why this fight is so interesting for me. Donaire will have to come forward to make the fight. Rigondeaux will be very happy to defend, move and counterpunch. A master-stroke from Donaire would be to force R. to come forward by not coming forward himself. Force the counterpuncher to move forward by banking on the fact that R. will feel he has more to prove and more activity to show.
I got Rigo stoppage, I just think Donaire will taste his power and get frustrated he cant hit him then start abandoning his gameplan and maybe start trying to counter punch and then can get caught, for the people picking Donaire i know Rigo's chin is terrible but unless Donaire lands a perfect punch do you think he can still stop Rigo after hurting him? Rigo looks like the type of a fighter who can be hurt but still dodge everything and clinch and fall on the floor and all sorts to avoid getting stopped, when Marroquin hurt him he'd dodge the next punch threw a counter then clinched, the guy is so crafty im not sure if he will be stopped unless its a one punch knockout Cant wait though
