Blame this on Donaire. Donaire basically said Rigo was **** and didn't deserve a fight with him. After all, Rigo hadn't fought anybody in the pros. Donaire has been talking smack and went as far as to mock Rigo at the weigh in. Don't talk smack if you can't back it up. Rigo said he was the best boxer and from what I saw he's either right or Donaire sucks.

And donaire was a huge favourite for that very reason. He was a proven 3 weight champion and p4p superstar. Rigo was an inexperienced pro with a thin resume.

That's why it was an upset, if donaire was so **** then someone with rigo's skill level would have been a favourite to win.

Donaire is world class, Rigo is just better.

Donaire is just another amateur beaten by two time gold medalist. Rigo still needs to prove himself. :D

No upset, that implies it was close. That was a one-sided affair.

Is English your first language? Upset does not mean close, upset means it wasn't expected by the boxing public for example Douglas v Tyson.

donaire has been a pro for years and won titles in 3 divisions.

Rigo doesn't need to prove himself, he seems to small to move up so i imagine he'll just rule the sbw division, make his millions and retire.

He doesn't suck whatsoever. Still a great fighter but Rigo is just an ELITE fighter for any era. Donaire is going to be limited when he moves up to 130lbs - his 1 punch power is not going to save him as frequently as it does at bantam. Donaire made his career as a weight cutter beating much smaller opponents, now the 130's can get to him. One thing I commend Donaire for is his rock solid chin.

Why would he suck? Because he lost to a better fighter?

Although I think at this stage, he would have a difficult time addressing his weaknesses if he wants to become more successful at the higher weights, I still see him as one of the best boxers around.

That one loss didn't make him a fraud; he has proven himself well against various competition. Rigo is just better than him.

Rigo is not proven, he only fought amateurs. By Donaire's own logic, Nonito SUCKS and so do you. No upset, unless you're a *******.

Donaire is obviously a world-class fighter - there aren't many better. He just ran into one of them last night.

Rigo holds the wbo, wba and ring belts and he's about to become a consensus top 10 p4p fighter, how is that not proven?

Why would I suck, I've just watched a great fight between the best two fighters in the division whilst making £110 on the rigo victory, all things considered I had a cracking night.

Upset does not mean a close fight. It means the favourite lost. Moorer beating Holy was an upset and he won by 1 point.

And what does pacquiao have to do with anything?

he is a good fighter when facing a come forward fighter but a smart boxer gives him trouble..

loosing to a fighter like rigo is not a bad thing.. rigos clearly the real ****ing deal and any boxing fan could have seen that a long time before the donaire fight..

He's the same guy as always, an off balance fighter who is pretty fast and can really bang with his left. Donaire needs to be in a rhythm to land his counters, he doesn't have the fluent footwork to make the big punches himself, he needs his opponent to come onto his punches at the right time. Rigo was never going to let that happen, Rigo is a master boxer and was always one step ahead, stopping Nonito from ever finding any rhythm. Donaire looked really bad in there, slow, amateurish and robotic. That was due to Rigo.
