Donaire said afterwards: “I didn’t feel his power until the last round…I tore ligaments in my shoulder in the last three fights and I need to have surgery. I’m not making excuses I want to go up in the division. It’s very hard for me to make weight. I want the rematch. I didn’t study the fight and I should have.”

I'm surprised he said he didn't study the fight. That's like saying I didn't pass the exam because I didn't study. Shooting himself in the foot, fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Also I think he felt his power in the first round and that made him a little more tentative than he may otherwise have been.

I don't believe he didn't feel Rigo's power until the 12th. If this was true, he wouldn't have been son tentative after getting popped in the first few rounds.

It's very common for a world class competitor to look for excuses of why he lost. Ego.

This isn't a bad thing, this is part of the reason why they reach the very top. Some see this as a weakness, I don't :conf

4 excuses. Donaire is a good fighter, but he would have probably lost no matter what he did last night. Rigo just fought a great fight and he was fast.

Usually guys produce just one excuse. I've never seen that many in one paragraph. I know it's the norm for fighters to have an excuse bit this is something else.

Whatever, Donaire wouldn't have beaten Rigondeaux for **** even if he studied the **** out of Rigo.

I'm not making excuses but here's a detailed list of why I lost the fight. I repeat once again, I'M NOT MAKING EXCUSES.
