Best thing is weight cutting bully Nonito looked much bigger. Anyone know what Rigo' weighed? Looked a perfect featherweight to me.

 

That's not what happened IMO. Donaire cannot fight off the front foot. He's a natural counter puncher. Rigo' was the quicker, more cultured ring general and forced Donaire out of his natural game. Donaire couldn't counter Rigo' enough, and the Cuban's feet and upper body movement saw Nonito's offence being slipped or falling short.

Not just Narvaez, but Vasquez Jr avoided too much bother by not engaging too much, Donaire only banged out Nishioka when the Japanese took the offensive for the first time.

Two natural counter punchers, Rigo' was better schooled.

 

Nice post but for me he's usually a guy that gets things moving with a well-timed counter. Only got one good one last night, and it wasn't enough.
