Moog Alex Arthur very rarely sparred Scott but I'm sure you know that,Alex was a top fighter yes but I could mention sparring parrtners who IMO were totally inadequate for Scott,the thing is Anwar,Saunders,theopane are top top guys on the UK scene,I really can't see we're your coming from.
Oh yes I will be on the forums next week, what happens if the unthinkable happens and Scott gets beat will you just disappear into the distance like so many of the Burns doubters?
Martin Ward is a class act Moog again you know that yet you think he should be getting schooled,is Scott schooling Willie or Michael or do you think he should be?

 

So Moog Scott used to spar the likes of chill John,Jason hall,Adar Ali would you class them good enough to spar Scott? And they got Payed a lot less that what Ricky pays I can assure you!

 

Just one other thing Moog read what naturals are posting,A prime Ricky beats a prime Scott please accept it.
Ricky is potentially going to be the best Scottish fighter ever,he's already ahead of Scott and his achievements

I dont know if he's schooling them, but i would be shocked if he was not doing so. i will be here next week. As for doubting Ricky i always have doubts when a world class boxer (as he is) turns down unification fights at his own weight class. One thing about Alex Arthur was it was public knowledge Scott used to school him when they sparred, and if they had ever fought Scott would have hammered him. it Was only a few years ago you where on these forums saying Scott was the greatest scottish boxer of all time (after you stopped working with him)

 

Unfortunately i don't think i will make it down as i have prior commitments, though i am going to see about changing them as i want to be there. i would happily watch ricky spar, it is not a lack of ability with Ricky, maybe confidence issues for unification bouts that are holding him back, whatever it is i am not sure, just know he has had chance to have these fights and should have.

Now Ricky is with Matchroom, did you not try and get some sparring with Rees ? Don't get me wrong Ricky is far better than him, but he is a good level sparring partner to have.

 

Billy that is because a lot of fans are fickle, Ricky is current champ, some don't like Scott because of his behaviour away from boxing (fair enough) then you have some that where not boxing fans back then ! I personally think Scott back then (except last year or so of his reign) would have beat all the top names in his division, as all people talked abut was his power and fitness levels, and granite chin, but forget what a world class boxing brain he has always had. Thats rickys number 1 strength too for the record. He uses it in a different way though.

 

I've never said Scott was the best Scottish fighter ever your wrong Moog, so let's get this right
1.you don't watch Scott spar
2.you source is telling you how he's sparring
3.so how the **** can you shout about how Scott looking when really you haven't a clue mate

I've said Scott was a great fighter certainly not the best ever,one thing for sure he's not better than Ricky and you know it

 

We have had great sparring from Gavin befoe the Katsitas fight, like I have said weve had the best up here, I've worked his corner afterwards in two euro title fight,Gavin IMO is the 2nd best LW in the country.

 

Rees has sparred Ricky, Ricky said in an interview before the Broner fight that he thought Rees could trouble Broner because his boxing skills are underrated, which Rees did for 2 rounds.

Billy has Ricky sparred Buckland? I read that he really rates Burns so i assume they sparred.

 

Scott has got a great boxing brain,however people are not being fickle when they see a sporting hero on the front pages continually instead of the back pages,resonsibility for your actions and if you make a mistake don't make the same mistake again and again and again?
Your forgetting Moog Scott is supposed to be a role model for youngsters and fellow pros, I'm afraid he let a lot of them down badly! Compare that to Ricky?

Billy you where on a thread in 2009 saying Scott was best scottish boxer ever, and peter arguably best ever british coach ever (in a thread about willie limond promoting a bill remember)! If you want me to go and find the post and paste it in here i will.

I have a family wedding that was arranged months ago before this fight was announced, what am i meant to do billy, your talking more nonsense i see.

I have not said how he is sparring just now have i ? you must be getting me mixed up with someone else. Seen enough of Scott over the years to see if hes looking fit or drained before a fight from the way he looks, he isnt looking drained, and i think he will beat Walsh, and i dont think it will be as tough as people think.

The problem with you Billy you say people are saying things they have not, you should read peoples posts right before jumping off on one mate

 

I would have loved to have seen that Billy :good I seen clips of Buckland spar Selby and it was a war. Ricky and Selby would be good sparring, he looks a huge featherweight, talented lad too.

dunky,it was a pleasure to work with scotland best ever boxer and possibly britans best ever coach in scott and peter harrison,with regards to the gomez and burns shoving match this was blown out of all proportion ,but let me tell you dunky its given burns an even bigger incentive to defend his title IN THE RING.good luck hope you go to both shows.

For the record everyone here is a post Billy made to Dunky saying scott was Scotland's best ever boxer - but understandably now that he is on Ricky's payroll he has a sales job to do bigging Ricky up !

I said that in 2009 before Ricky improved dramatically and yes I thought Scott was possibly Scotland's finest fighter but he's been passed by a long way by Ricky
