Frankie Gavins trainer rips into his promoter & manager

Gavin has made some mistakes and had some personal problems, but even the most staunch Allegedly supporter/Gavin hater would admit that he's been grossly mismanaged.

 

But unless he does something about he career will continue on the current lines!

 

One thing being promised alot but how long does it take to actually get paid!

Feel for Frankie. He's a massive talent who for ages wasted his potential. The last year or so though the penny seems to finally dropped and he appears be taking his career seriously and the improvement was noticeable.

After he beat Witter for the Lonsdale belt I thought his career would finally begin to take off. Hasn't happened though likely because of Allegedly's financial/managerial problems. Maybe Frankie should consider walking away too now. Another promoter would pay him less but if he's serious about becoming a big star in British boxing then he's going to need to accept that. Take less money but get better fights and get his career to go where he wants it to be. Then hopefully before long he can become a draw which will bring larger cheques.

He (and others) shouldn't have been getting European title money for smacking around a cab driver from Latvia.

Junior Witter wasn't going to fight Gavin until they offered him something reasonable.... I'd have told Allegedly to go **** himself unless he gave me what Gavin was on.

Witter was British champion and entitled to call the shots to some degree.

He could have become the first British fighter to my knowledge to win Lonsdale belts outright at two different weights if he'd won a couple more fights. Stick to that and leave Allegedly's man in the cold.

But even so, even if Frankie got half of what he's rumoured to be on, it'd be one hell of a payday for a man of his standing in pro boxing.

I like the lad, but in all honesty he hasn't done ****, and is a nobody. He should be the one offering to step in on a week's notice for next to no money, or fight abroad for a European title.

Instead, nothing. Sacking Allegedly would be a start I think.

 

Its a bit ironic that he`s moaning about lack of tv dates when frankies promoter has his own channel supposely dedicated to boxing

 

Gavin was Witter's mandatory so he had to fight him or give up the belt.

 

Also British Boxing isn`t falling apart,it`s that fighters have to be realistic about the money they are going to get at British level.Frankie was spoiled with a big signing on fee and silly purses to start of with.

 

Pretty much what i think yes the fighter has let himself down at times he has had documented outside of the ring issues these have now seem to be behind him.

He needs to now fight regularly at 27 prime years for his weight & you would want to keep him busy as his promoter now he seems more focused.

 

He should speak up at the times frankie pulls out cuz he is too fat/lazy/depressed to fight aswell.
