Your point about Arum and departing fighters is correct in general IMO, but does not apply in this instance.
Pac screwed himself over. Knoz was in his ear when Floyd called him. Manny had a chance to do what Cotto did and leave Arum.and make his biggest payday vs Floyd and be free from Top Rank but now hes gotta start from the bottom. Arum even backed Margacheato ffs and was dying to get him in there with Cotto again. Cotto didnt like that and thank God he won that fight which was his last under Arums contract and went on to bigger and better things.
Yes it does, u think Arum couldnt have avoided Rigo for Donaire? He was much too eager to make it happen and once Nonitos contract is up, he wo.t get a rematch without signing a cobtract. Thats why hes in no rush to demand a rematch. He knows what a rematch means long-term.
Rigo was fighting a larger stronger opponent with major punch power. Of course he is going to be very cautious. This was the fight to put him on the map. He has power though so he can collect knockouts with the right opponents.
