  5. Hey Red, some of us forget that not everyone here grew up with the sport and some details aren't so obvious to noobs.

But yeah. Fighters are required to wear a cup in sanctioned matches. Its the same cup you see in sparring. They just put their trunks on over it. Its the reason you see fighters ad******g their trunks over and over in a fight because the trunks want to ride up over the guard. Watch some fights from later in De La Hoya's career and you can see his oversized cup that he pulled up real high to protect against legit body shots.

  6. Its ****ing incredible that you have to get around the language filter to use such an offensive word as "a d j u s t i n g"

This guy came on the forum and started giving out advice and posing as an expert on boxing from the get go so for him to not know this, he deserves the ridicule.

They wouldn't need groin protectors if they banned low blows, instead of celebrating them :bbb

  12. Oh well. I haven't been studying his posts.

He could be a troll. He could be 14 and not only learning about boxing, but also human interaction. Spongy brain and all that.

    Whatevers.

Trust me, he is not a troll. My guess is he is a young guy who is new to boxing, the sort who thinks he knows it all before he knows anything.

I didn't know they were under the trunks. That was my mistake. How come fighters are still hurt from low blows despite the protector?
