One elite win in my book isn't enough,he should Leapfrog Donaire but he has some potential great match ups so you never know for the Future
Schooling? I personally thought it was a rather close fight and had riga winning by a single point. I also wouldn't really have argued if the decision went the other way so I can't see how that is a schooling. Terrific boxer but people don't half get excited by say he is number one. A rematch would be interesting for me at the minute.
1. Floyd Mayweather 2. Andre Ward 3. Guilermo Rigondeux 4. Juan Manuel Marquez 5. Sergio Martinez 6. Manny Pacquiao 7. Wladamir Klitschko 8. Austin Trout 9. Tim Bradley 10. Nonito Donaire
No-one should get to No 1 off the back of one fight, regardless of the opponent or how convincing the win is. Donaire could have been fighting lame for all we know (not that I'm saying he was) or just had an off-night. You need to accumulate wins against good fighters with different styles to get that sort of recognition.
I wouldn't even put him in the top 10. The guy bores the **** out of me,he does more running than boxing.
Yes for what he has done as an amateur as well. I've never seen a performance from Mayweather that good and as good as Ward is he's not either.
**** me, 1 win, and to many was a close win,by going backwards, ducking below waist level, turning your back, on more than one occasion turning his back and running , countering a man on the front foot all night with possibly 3 or 4 shots per round does not make a world no 1 boxer. Some people on here, and it seems to only be on here are going way over board. Rigo won no doubt, but not by schooling anyone, it was by just doing enough and the other chap not being able to catch him, zola budd would of been proud
