    I think 'schooling' is an appropriate term to describe Rigio's victory over Donaire. In boxing 'schooling' connotes subtlety than aggression, brain rather than brawn etc, so it's a fair call.

    Well done on the call Billy :good. Remember asking you and saying i fancied Donaire at that time. Closer the fight got the more i started to feel Rigo's display wasn't that bad against Marroquin and Donaire was beatable. By the night of the fight i was leaning to Rigo.

    I agree i think it was a schooling if you scored it wide as i did.

    theres no shame in losing to rigo like this , donaire is still a P4P top ten fighter who will go on and do big things again at 126lbs
    He just ran into a guy who is just too good for him

    i'll never compare this fight to say hopkins v pavlik...which was a proper schooling......in my eyes.

    I'm with you all the way dougie,it was a win,that's it,a very negative win,I'm disagreeing with mand on this one,it was not a master class or the sweet science:admin:nono
    I'm not a fan of sweet pea at all but he did know how to be a defensive counter puncher and rigo is no pernel Whitaker

    Hamed got Schooled so bad it turned him a bit mental and made him retire, fat and lazy.

    (It was Hamed's ego that took the worst schooling, as he though he was unbeatable). (his words not mine)

    unfortunately, as much as i'd like to see someone share my point of view, i can't completely agree with you fella.

    i do think it was an example of the sweet science.
    and i dont consider it negative boxing.

    and whitaker and rigo i would never have compared myself.

    i'm just as happy watching a good tactical battle as i am watching a toe to toe battle.

    but...each to their own.
