Alvarez is too accurate. He will take Trout apart, no doubt in my mind.

It's a good one this ain't it, I'll go Albert points I think, as folk said prev he is more accurate. But trouts win over Cotto is more impressive than Alvarez and his win over Shane Mosley .

There should be an 'i dont know' option on the poll.

2/5 on canelo is generous for someone without a meaningful win at 154. Whereas 3/1 for trout seems almost too good to be true. I think i'll not bet on this one and enjoy it for what it is, a genuine 50/50 imo.

Outside of the Cotto win, which I think flatters Trout, Alvarez has the best resume.

Yeah this is how i see it...i've not seen anything from Trout that makes me think he'll be able to hold off Alvarez for 12 rds and do enough to win at the same time.

Trout ain't no defensive wizard or counter-puncher like Mayweather, Winky or Rigo and the key factor in the fight for me is that Saul has faster hands and footwork so the fight may be somewhat competitive for the first 5 rds but after that i think it's going to be a one-sided beat down and result in Alvarez stopping Trout between rounds 6 and 10.

Its bang on 50-50 in the predictions right now!

  10. This is a fascinating fight, the main reason is it's so hard to judge how their progress is in comparison to each other, then you throw in their very different styles and you have a very hard pick.
It's not true to say that trout is a cagey fighter,he is big and strong at the weight and packs more power in his shots than he is given credit for.But I think his reputation is from being an excellent defensive fighter,it will be hard to get hold of him and he likes spinning and firing in rapid shots before moving out of harms way again.
The question is can Alvarez pin him down for
Long enough periods to either hurt him or dominate him enough to take a decision. It really is a hard call, there is no doubt in my mind that Saul has the arsenal to hurt most men but welterweights are a different test to a very good slick light middle.

I think why it's hard to pick is they are evenly matched with questions
Hanging over both,it's conceivable to me that trout could frustrate Alvarez by making him miss and then cutting him up when the opportunity arises.but I'm going to tentatively go for an Alvarez mid to late stoppage,he has much better footwork and ring iq than given credit for,i think he will look to hurt trout early followed by a few rounds of boxing the boxer, controlling the distance and turning it up when he wants. He throws hurtful body shots that will slow trout down and eventually knock the stuffing out of his legs for a commanding win.

Truth is I'm finding hard to split them but I don't wanna sit on the fence

It will be a fascinating, hopefully high level fight

I know it's just a heavy bag, but I saw Canelo hitting the heavy bag on youtube and it was moving all over the place! reminded me very much of Tyson.

That said, I think Trout frustrates him with his footwork, split decision win for Trout

People say trout's victory over cotto is overrated but that win far outweighs any victory achieved by canelo. I expect it to be a good competitive fight with trout winning 7-5.
