I doubt it too. Even when he did get hit Winky took a great, great shot and otherwise he blocked most of his opponents' punches. Winky was one durable dude. He could hit and not get hit or he could throw down with pretty much anyone, as he demonstrated in the Vargas fight. Neither Trinidad, Quartey, Harry Simon or Paul Williams could get rid of him, so I doubt GGG would either.

Wow he beat Dirrell in the amatuers! OMG so did Anthony Hanshaw. Hanshaw beat Pavlik in the ams too. He must be the greatest!

Anyway, you're right. That doesn't count in the pros. Now who has he beaten again?

    Not a hope in hell.

Winky would make Golvkin look like a faded Tito Trinidad.

Winky is an ATG, GGG is a fighter who has a bandwagon currently rolling.

    Huge difference.

Theoretically, sure. But I'd bet against it. Winky had defensive skills, footwork, and a ring IQ unlike anything GGG has faced.

Although I will say the comparisons to the Winky/Tito fight are unfair. Tito, IMO, did not have the same type of power at 160 as GGG does. Then again, Winky never got hit with that power, so maybe it is appropriate.

Could he, yeah - he has enough power to take out most fighters around the weight ever.

Would he - No chance, Winky wins 97/100

Unless you're Julio Cesar Vasquez. Then you drop Winky five times en route to beating him from pillar to post. Or if you're Bronco McKart then you give Winky hell as well.

If you're Julio Cesar Vasquez, and you fight a peak Winky Wright, you're getting battered. :smoke:smoke

I've seen the Vasquez fight once, several years ago when it was posted somewhere. I'd say getting dropped five times is proof Wright isn't invincible. To be fair Vasquez was one hell of a champ...and Wright was out of his league.

I only count the first two McKart fights, McKart was faded by the third one. The bottom line is, he struggled in the first fight. Wright wasn't some invincible figure at 154 and while I'd pick him to beat GGG, he is overrated on these boards.
