This floyd vs ghost FIGHT looking like a hard sell...

    I am going to bet it will be one of the worst selling fights but i think he will be one of his best fights.... the build up just isnt there no press tour number 1 and its messing something no canelo vs trout is HUGE... HBO seems to have done a better job thus far....

    Agreed.HBO is far superior in promoting the big events.This Mayweather fight is going to flop-no hype at all.

    its just not being pushed well, hbo made him famous and i can clearly see why i mean hbo has 7 channels and his fight was promoted on all of them SHOtime just is not pushing this fight well so far...

    The fight definitely doesn't have the steam a typical Floyd fight carries, despite the fact that I think this fight will be more competitive than many of Floyd's recent scraps

    yeah its not as much hype as usual. I think it will pick up after Canelo vs Trout. Especially since the winner of that fight will be who people will want Floyd to fight.

    Not that this has some huge meaning but just for a small sliver of comparison....

    Showtime Boxing's official facebook page has 320,000 likes on facebook.

    HBO Boxing has over 1,040,000

    That being said.... this was always a hard fight to sell, and I don't get why GBP thought Ghost would be a good opponent to put in there. Oh well....

    The fight will still do over 800k, imo. Will be interesting to see if it breaks a mill though and if so by how much.

    It's not going to sell as well as the HBO PPVs and Floyd doesn't care. His money is guaranteed and he hasn't felt the need to do the media blitz that we are accustomed to seeing him do.

    The best promoter of Mayweather's fights has always been Floyd. His absence has been a detriment to overall fan interest.
