I'd take Ruslan, Kell or Vargas all realistic all with at least 1 fight at 147, according to scene 3 independent guys offered to fight Alexander a day after his fight got canceled you telling me Pacquiao can't get a fight?

I respect your opinion but my argument would be it's no longer a weight class fight but a catchweight, most people are either naive or hypocritical because I've used the example of when Khans fight was announced at 143, the replies were all negative on a pro-manny site, I was like what the **** for the last 4 years you defended Manny now Khans a ***** for a catch weight, I'm not saying you do that but that's why i can't value them because no one else does until it helps their guy.

Kell - Was scheduled to fight Alexander for months until recently. He's got injuries and had to call that off. He wants a title shot, Pacquiao can't give him one

Vargas - If he fought Vargas people would be complaining that Bob is protecting him with a guy who isn't a big puncher to protect his chin. A guy who I think lost to Lopez...you can't win...Alvarado has just beaten Rios, can box and brawl, Vargas hasn't beaten anyone of note. It's obvious whose going to bring in more money - this fight makes no sense

Ruslan - He's just come off a loss, unheard of before Bradley and is just a come forward puncher with no other dimension who PAcquiao has pummelled several times in sparring...yet he's a better choice than Alvarado??? Unreal

Alexander is with GBP and has the IBF title - of course people want to fight him. I said Top Rank, so Alexander is not on the cards. I don't see any better alternatives to Alvarado as 3rd choice...

I don't agree with catchweights for title fights, but catchweights are part of boxing and 2 fighters have a choice whether to agree or not. The small guy is still going to be at a big disadvantage coming up against a guy whose used to the weight - the bigger guy has to decide how much that catchweight will affect him...

There are instances where the smaller guy gets pummelled and instances where the bigger guy suffers - with Pacquiao everything is with the benefit of hindsight, he pummels the big guys so everyone knocks it...Pacquiao has also accepted catchweights for fighters for their benefit also (Marquez III ) so Juan's jump wouldn't be so big coming from 140...and guess what, Pacquiao respected the catchweight unlike some...

Your going to call it a welterweight win if Alvarado loses at 147 aren't you, just have it at 140 but no they are going to have a 140 guy fight at 147 and everyone in here will count in I find that disgusting.

I've never called catchweights any weight class and I don't give Floyd credit for JMM, people say Floyd is a coward and Pacquiao is a warrior but anytime I bring up something Manny did Pacquiao fans say Floyd did it to, so is Manny like Floyd? You really respect beating a guy who got caught cheating and lost and hadn't fought in the USA in 22 months?

By your rationale no one would ever move up in weight? I dont' understand this logic...

Did you know Alvarado weighed 158 on fight night vs Rios? Pacquiao on fight night is never above 150 - are you aware Rios and Alvarado struggle to make 140?

Did you find Mayweather beating Marquez even more disgusting? I can only assume you found it an absolute disgrace if you're being consistent, even more disgraceful in fact. Did you find Mayweather making Hatton come up an absolute disgrace? The difference there is that Mayweather IS actually bigger than those guys whereas Alvarado is actually bigger than Pacquiao - Alvarado will be more comfortable at 147 than at 140 :patsch
Please try talking sense and using logic, you might enjoy it

Fighting in the USA or outside, not sure what the point is.
Why does Mosley get credit for pumelling a 145 weight drained Margarito but Pacquiao gets crucified for pumelling a 150 version - a guy who was coming off a win for a 154 title? Read up about how sick Margarito was in losing weight for Mosley, that's a lot worse...

Not sure how you can simply write off a win against a guy who outweighed him by 17 pounds on fight night...a guy whose power PAcquiao had never experienced before, you just have to look at the 2 fighters in the ring to see the size difference...

The catchweight takes a shine off it, absolutely - it always does, I do agree with that. But saying it's a ZERO credit fight with nothing worthy of praise is just HATE talking

They're both great boxers. Nonito just fought someone better. PAC career manipulated by Arum.

Pacquiao didn't want Marquez, or else he would've got him.

This is a hate thread maybe i shouldn't get involved.

But to answer seriously. Manny Pac's feats as a Welter were more impressive given that he was considered to small for 126 and 130 when he 1st went there.

But from a p4p sence i think donaire is better now than manny pac has ever been at welter.

Now to all the trolls. Go get a life.

    I agree

A boxer makes it to P4P number 1 by beating Marquez Barrera and Morales, and would have stayed p4p number 1 if he'd just stayed at 130 defending it.

But for some reason winning titles at 135/140/147 when everyone assumed he'd be too small, and now for some reason he's overrated, because in one fight he asked cotto to come in 1lb lighter than he did the fight before.

    Pure hating at its best.

Also what people don't get is manny's +130 career is all just a bonues (all beit a very impressive one)
Manny was already considered an ATG/ 1st ballet HOF'er for what he did from 108 to 130.

If you trolls were around in the 80's you'd be calling Duran Overrated for not being as good above 135.

    1. Stop crying.

    2. Comparing Duran and Pacquiao post-135 is a bannable offense.
