Was Solis on his way to outpointing Vitali before his knee caved in?

No kidding, he lost the round 8-10. So much for the 'Solis was outpointing him' theory

    Short answer is "Yes"

He was clearly winning the first round till his leg gave way, would have been 12 rounds of the same

Because of the knee business theres a bit of controversy, and apart from this he's unbeaten, and fairly highly rated. So he should be able to get into a position to fight Wlad,as Vitalis gonna retire soon.Personally,I can't see it,as he didn't look as though he really gave a **** after the loss.Considering another top Cuban ex olympian stands the door in a bar in Havana Vieja,he's already made it.

Far too little to tell. Probably Vitali's best comeback opponent on a technical basis was Gomez, a very talented southpaw with craft and he seemed like he was going to befuddle Vitali in the first round, put a little southpaw jinx on him, and Vitali adjusted immediately and dominated the rest of the fight to another accumulative beat-down stoppage. I do think Solis was possibly on his way to giving the best technical boxing account of himself of any of Vitali's comeback opponents though. While that's not saying a lot, I think his stock would be higher at least. Both of them, probably, oddly enough, as those things work out. I still think he'd have lost however. I figure him for a wide loss as Vitali puts too much on him or a stoppage loss in the corner late.

no, Solis would have suffered a heart attack before the end of the fight

  11. If his tactics were so perfect he wouldn't have gotten KO'd. The knee went because his legs were all jelly and he stepped in an imaginary pothole. :deal

And if you disagree, it's because you are a blind Klitschko hater who refuses to actually watch the replay. It's as clear as day.

Well, Solis still beat the count with a shredded knee. He would've been around for round 2 in any case if the knee were okay.

  14. Shredded knee was caused (indirectly) by the punch Vitali landed on his temple.

TKO in 1. Deal with it.
