Almost felt like it and probably did, but not much On the two nights Tommy lost in 1985 and 1988it was always devastating. You think it will never be the same, then the next year he won another title.
The way Michael Buffer realizes the magnitude of George Foreman's KO of Moorer..."and once again...HEAVYWEIGHT!...champion of the world....BIG...GEORGE...FOREMAN!!!! Maybe not tears, but goosebumps at the least.
The tributes on HBO for Joe Frazier and Emanuel Steward got me real choked up. Frazier was such an integral part of boxing and heavyweight history, a real gentleman, and a warrior inside the ring. Really made me sad to see him go. Steward was a remarkable ambassador for the sport and one of those figures who was such a constant on the boxing scene in so many aspects, you just never expected to not see him around. Reading the news about Omar Henry's death did, too. Especially since a few days before, he wrote about wanting to life long enough to see his next birthday - a goal that sadly didn't come to fruition.
Never made me cry. I was completely gutted when Joe Frazier, Angelo Dundee, Carmen Basilio and Emanuel Steward died. I'm still in a bit of disbelief over Steward.
Never cried, not even close. They wouldn't cry if I died so who cares? I've felt bad for fighters though. Gatti's death shook me, frazier's made me sad for awhile. I didn't like seeing pac get flattened like that, it was a brutal K.O.
Cooney's lose to M. Spinks 1988 just gutted me to the point of utter darkness, as people were saying in the crowd "The Great White Hope is dead!"......Well Wlad fixed my grief to utter joy! .......Peace
I'm right there with you on Steward. You still expect to see him on HBO or in the news. He was everywhere and then in a matter a couple months, he just declined so rapidly.
Jmm vs PAC 4... I would of been happy with jmm being robbed again as I never would of thought or even imagined he would of ko PAC.
Yep. I remember being a bit worried when I saw how rapidly his hair thinned and turned white, but then I just figured it was bound to happen sooner rather than later seeing how he was in his mid 60s. Little did I know that the Thompson rematch would be the last time I saw him in Wlad's corner.
Never cried but felt emotional when Rigo won, was worrying about his chin the whole time to see him knocked down then get up and then do that to Donaire in the last round was the perfect fight for him, plus he never got robbed Also Taylor getting stopped by Froch in the last round was gutting and Cotto being stopped by Margarito, they both bugged me for days Never cried though man up bitches
