Gomez did what he was allowed to do....:deal Same with Josesito!

Gomez is also a much shorter smaller guy than Trout, meaning he is able to slip duck and roll under Canelos shots much easier, with Trout thats a huge target....

Like I said book mark this thread, bump it on the 21st Canelos going to break this guy down and stop him, Trout will put up a good fight no doubt, but the 2nd half is where Canelos finest work will be done you will see and when it happens dont forget about this thread bump this thread on the night of the 20th or on the 21st

    I am that confident

Gomez did do real well. Won a couple rounds for sure.

But, although this is clearly opinion, it is my belief that Alvarez was essentially trying out new things (shoulder roll), going the rounds, and pretty much taking it easy until the 5th/6th round. If in round 2 the fight was changed to only a 4 rounder (ala Williams/Botha), I personally feel Alvarez could have forced a stoppage even then.

Trout isn't one of my favourite fighters so im not gonna back him to death but I just think he wins, it might be 8-4 might be 7-5 I think Canelo's workrate lets him down, Canelo may land the better shots but Trout will outwork him with jabs uppercuts and body shots and control the ring better, either way im excited as ****

Yeah Alvarez didn't seem to be taking him seriously but shows Canelo is vulnerable, when he did try he stopped him but there was no need to look so bad in the process, the shoulder roll isnt for him lol

Gomez was moving on Canelo and outboxing him while he did it. Bull**** knockdown and a bull**** early stoppage. Tout will move it will be a big part of his game plan he knows Canelo does't deal well with movement and his feet have to be set in order to punch. I think he will tire Canelo out in the mid to late rounds and really take over. Canelo will have his moments but it will be Trout who lands the cleaner shots throughout.

That's what made me think Canelo isnt legit, Cotto destroyed him and knocked him down with a jab, he moves up in weight and looks good against Canelo
Can't favour Canelo for this fight however hard i try

You don't need to hurt people in order to beat them. How many times does it have to be said? All you need to do is make them respect you and Trout hits hard enough for that. Also he did hurt Cotto with a nice body shot in their fight.

Sure was Cotto put a beating on that boy. That right there tells me a lot about Canelo.

It's annoying when people say this, Trout does not try to put power in his shots like a Rigondeaux, hes more of a Chad Dawson place the punches nicely and keep moving, Cotto's chin is actually decent aswell

Yes he does and he does hit hard enough just like Dawson or Ward does to get your respect. You don't see guys walking through their shots like nothing. He hits guys with shots people don't see and clean counters.

I dont think the stoppage was early to be honest with you... He was on his way to getting smashed hard...

To me the reason Gomez won a few rounds is because Canelo was looking to see what he brought with him once he assessed the threat, he went on to close the show....
Gomez was hurt at the end of that fight lets not pretend here. you can say early stoppage but I aint going to say that he was IMO on his way to getting hurt worse

You will see like I said I am that confident, Canelo is going to shock team slick

Hey bazooka , you never got back to me after rigos fight. We were suppose to meet at the nacho picking rigo thread.
Anyways. It's a mystery how Canelo will handle someone his size with decent skills.

Keep in mind Gomez was on the contender series in which it was all super middle weights for **** sakes he has a win over Manfredo, this is a small guy but one tuff SOB... So moving up to Jr Middle means very little when he has fought guys that are 168
