And it gets recognition as such in the magazine from one it's writers. I agree it was too low myself, but a mainstream publication is always going to go for one of the more famous bouts as it's matinee write-up...and as I say, there are some obscurities in there too.

Seriously, if we did that to all the great fights we'd have a book of 'top 1000 fights that were missed off the first 100'.

Duran gets in there. Barkley himself makes an appearance listing his own favourite fights.

Hey look, it's another list of fights I can only read about in defunct newspapers. And about five of the top 20 are way too high.

Off a quick scan, every single one is available on film.

Maybe I missed one, two or three. But that's literally out of 100.

manilla aint even the best ali frazier fight.

as with the fighters book i would prefer it if they just called it 100 great fights

seems a bit pointless putting in unfilmed fights, pep saddler was a great performance by pep but for all i know it could have been a dull fight.

will buy it for the pictures anyway.

armsrong v ross seems a strange choice too, historically important but not so great to watch

The list is good. They should have West-Ryan in there though, if they're listing fights for which there is no footage - you can leave it out on a footage rule or include it, there is no in between.

You should list which are yours flea.

I had a browse through this in WHSmith yesterday and thought the same thing. I know the list is for "Greatest" and not "Best" fights but still. The fact that Gatti - Ruelas is directly in front makes it worse imo.

However, there were some quality, more obscure fights that i was pleased to see mentioned.
