One fight, not related at all... did not happen with mosely, cintron, rhodes... he already stated he was messing around in there because his opponent had no power, he said that he was practing different kinds of defense.. that some fights allow it while others do not...

If trout made a gameplan over that fight he's in for an awakening same people who are picking trout to win over that fight are gonna be in for a rude awakening.

It's like ur being faithful that he will fight canelo like small cotto who he could push around with ease and was so much bigger then him... watch him with DROD and that trout from the COTTO fight is nowhere to be found.

With DROD he had low output, fought scared, to defensive, feared DRODS power and body shots...

so you can't put your whole basis on one fight.

Ultimately it matters the most how these 2 will mesh up stylistically, and the great thing is both have never fought someone quite like each other, so one of them will be the one who steps up and takes this.

How I see the fight Playing IMO:

The first half of the fight will be about establishing dominance, will be about employing strategy. It will be about who does what they want to do? Canelo will be pressuring Trout, trying to close the space to unleash his bombs, catch him to the body and do what he always does, stalk his opponents and unleash bombs fight hard the last minute.

Trout will be trying to establish the jab, range, and just outbox and outsmart canelo on the outside. I do not believe he will try and pressure Canelo, this will be his downfall if he thinks that he can pressure canelo.. he is going to get caught with a bomb.

There are people that say canelo will lose because he fights in spurts, well yes he does fight in spurts, but what fighter that is a stalking boxer puncher like Mikey garcia or GGG fight with high output? its not about spurts its what they do in those spurts, Canelo always manages to stalk his opponents and break them down by going to the body and head with massive power shots that are thrown with bad intentions he always has his feet planted for maximum power, he has good ring generalship and knows how to close the ring and give himself opening by closing off and getting in range.

There are people that say canelo will lose because of stamina, when has Canelo ever got tired in a 12th round? he always throws the same punches with the same intensity and power as the first round, is it so bad that he conserves his energy and fight in spurts? He doesn't throw pity pat jabs like Trout to win on points, he's going in there to hurt a mother****er and when he throws its with authoritative power, so if you think Canelo is gonna lose because you think his stamina is ****, you got another thing coming.

At the end of the day, Canelo will win because of power, body shots and trouts tendency to chill on the ropes, or be stationary when defending. Canelo will win a wide UD or a late TKO depending how trout decides to fight after feeling that power.. I have a feeling trout will try and earn a decision by boxing intelligently with a lot of jabs and straights but his downfall will be that Canelo will be about power and trout will be thinking about points... ultimately Canelo wins.

Main points to focus on for Canelo

Body Shots

Straight right hand to the body & head while backing trout into a corner or turning him into the money shot.

Left hook on the inside

Combinations when trout is stationary.

Avoid the left to the body.

Smart pressure.

Body Shots
This will be the main factor and what has given canelo the ability to bully his opponents late into a fight and whenever he pleases, he slowly breaks them down with power shots to the body. It's his main focus in every single fight, he is just a natural body puncher, he attacks the body from start to finish. With uppercuts and hooks and straights, Trout presents a lanky body which will be target practice for Canelo.

Straight right to the body & head
If Canelo wants success he must employ his main weapon the right hand, and employ it often. The right hand is a southpaw's nightmare, and if Canelo wants this fight in his favor he must turn trout toward his right to lead him into straight rights to the head and body. Cutting the ring effectively will allow him to do so. This is something he does and does well, he stalks his opponents into corners into the ropes and tee's off, Trout has a tendency to chill when on defense, on the ropes, or mid range and try and use reflexes to avoid shots, But canelos combos and body shots will be doing damage.

Left hook on the inside
If canelo does manage to effectively pressure trout and stalk him into corners or into his lead right, then when trout tries and exit to the left, Canelo will have his left hook that Cotto was landing many times and hurting trout often... this is where he can attack the body with uppercuts, left hooks to the body and mix it up with combos, when trout is trying to retreat to the left to avoid the right.

Combinations.
Canelos bread and butter, his combinations. Trout loves to be stationary when he defends, and many times cotto caught trout when Combos were being thrown...

Smart pressure.

I've hit this point many times, but Canelo must keep his smart pressure up Canelo doesn't have the best footwork but he doesn't need it because he doesn't box on his toes, he keeps his feet planted and moves forward cutting the ring.. so whenever the guy gets on the ropes or gets cut off Canelo unleashes bombs. If Trout was a great mover like Lara I'd give him a better shot, but Trout is not slick on his feet he uses waist movement and reflexes while stationary to avoid shots, and this gives canelo the ability to land his bombs in combos and body shots. So at all time canelo must walk his man down to be victorious and intelligently like he always has.

Trouts Left to the Body

Canelo must have an answer for this shot, he cannot allow trout to concentrate on his body from the begging or he may lose his ability to bully trout late into the fight and make it closer then it has to be. He must have an answer and that is by either coming into trout with a hard straight right to make trout tentative about coming in with lefts. He can also set up and uppercut to the body with his combos to dissuade him.

Havent heard anybody talk about Trout's ability to smother his opponents on the inside. He did this very well against Cotto, although Trout showed he could be outboxed when forced to lead. Not sure how that would translate in Canelo terms as he clearly is not as mobile and active as Cotto. Trout also proved to be very susceptible to hooks, especially as he pivots out after engaging.

He does have that ability, But Canelo will take advantage of that, as Trout moves in to smother Canelo, Saul will take a half step back and punch as Trout is moving in to smother him.

He got away with it against Cotto because Miguel was clearly past it and was at a weight Cotto probably shouldnt have been at.

I am just saying that he needs to be aggressive.

He will need to be better than he has ever been in the past to pull this off. But i like him.

Trout only moved inside because he became ineffective on the outside in the middle rounds tho. Unless Canelo has an answer for his jab and movement, Trout will be outside all night. I also believe he will "run" if hurt. Cotto has a special dynamic to his style being a lefty converted orthodox. Cotto was constantly in punching range despite Trout's significant height/reach advantage. Ironically Trout felt Miguel was way stronger than he expected, if canelo is in fact stronger than Miguel, physicality might play an important role in this fight.
