Henderson may be too strong and steam roll Melendez. I realize that. I'm leaning a different way. Maybe it is because everyone seems to be doubting Melendez and I like underdogs. Melendez will press and has better hands. Melendez is aggressive enough to put the fight in the wheel house, and maybe avoid some of the leg kicks with pressure. Remember, Henderson's last few opponents were moving away from him, not toward him.
What a long strange trip it's been watching Strikeforce on Showtime and CBS and the brawl in Tennessee all the way to here with Melendez finally making his way along with the rest of the promotion into the UFC. There's a tear in my beer.
Mir should have been throwing more body and leg kicks in the first two rounds. He started ou the fight Travis Browne style all flashy head kicks idk why all the ****ing heavyweights out of Greg Jackson's think their bruce lee. Cormier had a good gameplan and won with it, Mir ate some good shots. It pisses me off in high level fights like this when there only 3 rounds, it's not enough time at all. Was surprised Mir didn't try to pull guard though.
