Canelo did land hard shots, but he either landed 1 a round or switched off for the round, he hurt Trout as soon as he landed clean properly so why was Trout standing at the end, where was all these hard shots i only saw a few, but saw alot of jabs from Trout

    Trout 114-113

So many close rounds that could have gone either way. I have no problem with Canelo winning.

What a horrible robbery. Such a ****ing shame. Trout clearly won that fight, but hey you know, he's just some guy from New Mexico, **** him. Canelo gets every round because he's the money fighter. ****ing WWE.

Just to clear something up, even a MISSED punch can be effective. A "missed" punch moves an opponent into position for a follow up to land. This counts as "ring generalship" by an astute observer and good judge. This was a very close fight. Even the knockdown round was considered by Showtime as 9-9 ( because Trout won the rest of the round). Nobody thought Trout would have Canelo back pedaling and he did. Canelo has conditioning issues and not enough power to overcome it as he continues to grow. Under Armour better invest in his chef and conditioning coach...

He didn't land the jab at very high a percentage, but through sheer number thrown he actually did wind up landing a lot of then.

Check the stats, unless you don't trust Showtime's. (probably tabulated in the same manner as CompuBox, except called Sho Stats instead for trademarking reasons)

115-112 Canelo is a fair score. So is 114-113 Trout. Reason...while Canelo may have landed the better, cleaner shots in most rounds, Trout managed to score a similar amount of punches through work-rate and often controlled lengthy sections of the fight simply by working the jab and maneuvering his foe into the ropes.

It's no robbery...but the people who call it for Trout do have a point. It was a close fight throughout, and certainly no blow-out.

It seems like every fight these days you get people who wholeheartedly believe that one guy won, then people who wholeheartedly believe that the other guy won. and then on message boards try to convince anyone who doesn't see it their way that their crazy for scoring it for the other guy. gotta love boxing.

I scored the fight for Canelo Alvarez, 7-5 rounds, 115-112 points. I gave Trout the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th. Of the rounds I gave Alvarez, only the 1st I felt could seriously have been given to Trout. Trout basically fought a bad version of Rigondeaux's fight last week. He stayed outside, throwing mostly potshots, only occasionally had effective aggression, and he got hit with A LOT of effective shots. I know lots of people are screaming robbery, but sorry, don't agree. Canelo surprised me by looking more fluid then before, and he SHOCKED me by how often he hit Trout with effective shots. Trout was disappointing tonight, he showed much less movement than in prior fights, and his defense was terrible. He needed to be A LOT busier to overcome Canelo's effective aggression. Great win for Canelo Alvarez.

Bernstein had it a draw. Farhood and Malignaggi had it a point for Canelo.
