Terrazas is getting close and catching Mijares with multiples, hooks and rights in succession. Mijares is freezing a little when Terrazas lands well before gathering his wits to move and counter. Slick work outside by Mijares, but Terrazas insistently jumps in and thrashes his body. Mijares leaps in with a left hand and snaps Terrazas' head back! Mijares flurries, trying to steal the round.

If Mijares wins this I wouldn't mind seeing him in there with Rigondeaux, I think they're styles would make it more difficult for Rigondeaux than some might think...

 

Round 6

Terrazas is throwing bunches of uppercuts past Mijares' single or Gatling-gun right jabs. Mijares seems confident and in control on the outside but a deer in headlights when Terrazas gets a lead foot between his legs and starts firing with abandon. Mijares is caught by a jab at mid-range but keeps his cool and sticks a few out into Terrazas' face. Mijares ducks as Terrazas lands a right to the body. Mijares feigns a left uppercut, and is clipped by a left hook. Looping left by Mijares. Double jab by Terrazas. Mijares leans to either side, past Terrazas' jabs. Body shots by Terrazas.

The unofficial Solo Boxeo Tecate card has it a draw, but arrived there by a different route than I did.

They gave Terrazas the 1st, 2nd, and 6th.

 

I don't know, probably. I assumed he would be the co-main event but instead it was some random 4-rounder.

Won't spoil the result, though.

 

Round 7

Terrazas is lobbing in uppercuts as he slides in pursuing Mijares. Right jabs keep him at bay. Mijares leans in with his guard up, draping a wet blanket over Terrazas and skewering him with short digs to body and hiking up to his cranium. Right jabs by Mijares as parting gifts. Accidental low blow by Mijares. Terrazas recovers for a minute. Time in. Mijares takes measured strides to his left and puts in the long right jab. Mijares kicks his feet up while pedaling laterally, creating even more distance.

Round 8

Mijares is pushing the right jab and standing rigidly as Terrazas swarms in and drills him with high-ramped 1-2s after bringing his guard down with hard body hooks. Mijares is whipping out right hooks and looping lefts as he scrapes his feet back along the canvas, hoping to discourage Terrazas with a light dusting of face shots. Terrazas keeps coming.

Round 9

Terrazas is putting in the straight right hand and backing Mijares up. Quick right hooks flapped in by Mijares. Sweep of the left arm by Terrazas across the back of the ducking Mijares' neck. Down goes Mijares, slip/push. Terrazas puts up several jabs. Counter uppercuts by Mijares. Southpaw vs. orthodox jab battle. Terrazas inches forward, probing with his left jab. Mijares jerks back to slip and then snaps forward with his right jab.

10-9 Mijares but incredibly tight.

Round 10

Terrazas is holding out his left arm, hoping to obstruct Mijares with it. Instead Mijares squats from a distance, then sizes up and lands right jabs to the body reaching out under Terrazas' arm. Mijares is growing sharper with that right jab. Terrazas steps around him and drops a left hook to the body. Mijares triples a jab past Terrazas' head and gets him in a headlock.
