Watching the Canelo unanimous decision over Mike Trout in Texas Sat night, I think that Trout threw more punches,{though not heavy], but landed more often than Canelo Alvarez did...It seemed to me the supposedly hard hitting Alvarez, threw long range right hands and missed
so often from afar, because he didn't want to mar his matinee good looks.
I wasn't that impressed with Canelo's abiity to cut the ring off, corner Trout
and body punch Trout to weaken his ability to scoot around the ring...
    Am I wrong. ?

Scored it for Trout, no problem with it going the other way though, I can see it for Alvarez as well.

I do think the body shots Trout was landing are being overlooked. Not a clear decision for either man.

Absolutely right, the open scoring kind of messed up the entire match imo. Canelo was barely even fighting in the 12th round. Paulie nailed it when he said that Canelo was fighting in spurts. Trout took advantage and CLEARLY outworked him imo.

it was close, but I think Canelo won one or two more rounds and then add in the knockdown. It is clear to me. Nowadays people seem to want controversy with scoring. I understand when it happens, but why create a problem when it is not there.

I didn't score it but at the end of the fight felt Alvarez had won by two points three at the absolute maximum so for me the KD was vital

Alvarez was the boss in there after the KD. His punches were the much more effective and he had the much better defence, if you watch it again you will see Trout missing too much I think, Alvarez was very precise. Alvarez was the 1 hurting his opponent too and this rightly influences the judges.

I didn't score it though and I found it pretty boring before the KD so I won't argue who won.

I feel Alvarez won by a tiny bit, cleaner harder punches

Not because of the decision but because of the scorecards. Thee 118 card is fishy as ****.

canelo in my eyes won most of the rounds, easily 8-9 out of 12.

trout was just punching AIR all night long. canelo was punching him in the face, making him go backwards, scored a lot with bodyshots, landed some uppercuts, you guys dont know boxing if you think trout won, he probably had 2 or 3 punches that landed properly. canelo had more than 10.

Not a fishy decision by any strech. This is what happens when you have decisions...Styles are subjective. That is why a knockdown, harder punches and defense sets them apart

    Power - clearly Alvarez
    Defense - clearly Alvarez
    Chin - Alvarez by far
Ring IQ - slight edge towards Alvarez

Trout was throwing that jab and other combos but was missing quite often.
