In 12 rounds Saul landed 124 punches? Yeah he is a ****ing beast. 10 punches per round for the great Mexican God.

a difference of 30 punches is not a big enough advantage to claim as irrefutable evidence Trout won - especially if you factor in the kd. As I saw it, Trout landed more jabs but Canelo had the edge on power shots. Trout threw almost twice as many punches which is probably why people have him winning. But as these numbers seem to confirm, he only managed a very low connection rate. Alvarez could have thrown more but did enough in my eyes - made his opponent miss and put in the big shots himself.

That Exchange shows what Canelo did well in the fight - making the agression of other guy ineffective. Now what he needs to do to reach the next level is to get in a countershot at the end of an exchange like that, but I did think he deserved a close but clear decision.
