Was Cotto ready for Mayweather? Is Guerrerro ready for Mayweather? I think the fact that Canelo is so young, that makes him a threat to Mayweather. There's such a huge gap in age between Mayweather and Canelo (14 years) and between Canelo and Martinez (16 years) that it's really like two generations of fighters. Isn't that the biggest hurdle to those fights? Larry Holmes and Mike Tyson are 17 years apart in age and remember when they fought, Tyson was in his prime and Holmes was coming out of retirement.

Who had the better defense? Hrmm lets see, good defensive fighters don't get knocked down. Good defensive fighters don't get wobbled and have their legs buckle multiple times. Canelo made Trout miss time and time again using upper body and head movement. Trout has good defense too, obviously, but not as good as Canelo in this fight. % landed / thrown was heavily in favor of Canelo, # of knockdowns, # of clean effective power punches, all in favor of Canelo.

The effective aggressor / ring general was Trout at times, other times it was Canelo. But as we saw from Rigo Donaire, you can be the aggressor and still lose a decision. Rigo was counter punching all night and using footwork but was winning rounds by counter punching and creating angles. Trout did not have the same type of lateral movement that Rigo had. Canelo had the speed advantage in this fight, whereas Rigo had the speed advantage vs Donaire.

you're right, but like i keep saying and people seem to keep underplaying, canelo's natural weight is a lot bigger deterrant than the age

    its not going to happen

    No,its called fighting.

OF COURSE landing bigger harder punches counts.

And as for defense,I would argue that Canlos was better.

Trout threw a lot but was landing very little meaningful.

If you saw the fight you would know it didnt end properly, and styles make fights, Alvarez is too slow on his feet to catch Lara

Dont forget Chavez JR and Golovkin.

Either one would embarrass him.......MOF......I would give Geale, Macklin, and Proska a very good chance at STOPPING him.:think
