Was Trout not as good as advertised or did Canelo just fight his fight

I guess the title explains the thread. After the Cotto fight ESB seemed to think he was this masterful boxer, many on here felt the footwork and his counter punching would dominate the plodding Canelo in an easy fight

Canelo for his part countered and moved and made Trout chase him. In the most unpredictable of circumstances Canelo was moving his head and slipping Trouts shots and was the more accurate puncher

Were we overrating Austin Trouts boxing abilities based on 2 fights and greatly underestimating Alvarez or did Alvarez just fight a great fight and Trout just did not expect Alvarez to fight like that or was Alvarez just better

I overrated Trout. I'll admit it. He pissed me off with his performance yesterday.

****ing Inaccurate, Pushing his punches, Leaning in.

And I overestimated his power, the guy cannot punch. Mayweather has more pop in his shots than Trout.

Trout was overrated by people who had only seen him in the Cotto fight.

Ive been saying for months he is overrated and nothing special.

But I swear people who post here dont actually watch fights and just like to jump onto bandwangons full of other idiots.

Trout is good but Alvarez was better. Cant take anything away from either. Alvarez is young though and has plenty of time to improve which i think he will. Trout is 27-ish and could use some punchingn power and/or commit more to his punches.

Trout's really good. Canelo might be a better boxer than people thought.

Trout is very stiiff to me, and doesn't have much fluidity.

Who wins a rematch? Does Trout make his adjustments, do you think he was generally surprised by Canelos boxing but in a second fight wouldnt be

People bought in to the hype that Canelo was over protected, hence overrated and not very good. It's true Canelo had been matched properly, but for those with decent boxing eyes it was clear to see Canelo could really fight.

Canelo seems to have mediocre stamina though... Eventually that will be exploited.

Canelo has a garbage resume which is his problem.

He has talent though, thats obvious to see like you pointed out.
