Even in the round Canelo knocked him down, he still outlanded him. I can't think of a single round where Canelo landed more punches.

Wtf are you people smoking? if anything Trout was the more active fighter, but thats it.

Being active doesn't equate to landing. You can get away with it if the other guy isn't fighting back, but the other guy is landing hard shots, countering really well and knocking trout down..

but Alvarez spent most of the fight about 80% of the rounds not doing anything. He didn't outland Trout in any round and Trout was the aggressor.

I had it 9-3 Trout, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt due to work rate in rounds 1+3. Give those to Canelo(which is totally fair), and it's 7-5 Trout with the KD making it a draw. Very very close fight. Trout didn't get robbed but he deserved the nod IMO.

Don't mistake motion for action...Trout threw arm punches while Canelo was landing better blows. Its Quantity vs Quality.

but his quality was like 3-4 punches a round. While Trout was actually landing. Not just the jab, but the left hand up and down. The right hook landed. The fight was way closer than some want to believe here.

80% stupidest **** I've heard you can't be so general over 12 rounds, Canelo gave trout a lesson in slickness and Landing power shots, vs arm punches

Let's look at the fighters in terms of stocks traded on the stock exchange. Alvarez was over-valued coming into last night, and I think his stock would be trading lower today after his performance. Trout was under-valued coming into the fight, and he would be trading even or slightly higher after last night.

I'm not a Mayweather fan, but I think Mayweather would beat Alvarez. If GGG dropped down to 154 he would destroy Alvarez.

And the 118-109 score handed in by judge Stanley Christodoulou. WTF?? Si Robertson from Duck Dynasty can see more clearly than he can.

I think some of these fools celebrated 4/20 a little too much last night....

Even Trout said after the fight that Canelo won and he was the better fighter on the night.

You forgot that rounds were scored on effective aggression (Canelo), defence (Canelo) and ring generalship (Canelo) too, not just on activity/clean punching (Trout).

Every time Trout was throwing a punch that Alvarez was slipping and ducking, or catching on his gloves, that was Alvarez winning the round on defence, not Trout on activity.

Every time Trout was landing a few clean but ineffective punches to which Alvarez responded with one big clean and effective punch, that was Alvarez winning the round on effective aggression, not Trout on activity.

Every time Trout was coming forward behind the range-finder jab and Alvarez was timing him with effective counters, that was Alvarez winning the round on ring-generalship, not Trout on activity.

Trout broke it down very well: Alvarez won because he boxed better (effective aggression), because he moved better (defence) and because he was smarter (ring-generalship). :good

Controlling the pace doesn't mean **** if you don' land. If you look uncomfortable but still land the harder, more eye-catching shots, guess what? You've done more damage/quality work and have won the round.

People need to stop getting caught up in who looked better or more composed and look at who hit the other guy.

Trout wasn't landing enough, Canelo landed better shots. That's it.
