False. The home rule act had already been passed thus Britain offically had no legitimate claim to Ireland.

Occupation? What the hell do they teach you in Irish schools? Ireland was part of the UK; it's paradoxical: how can a government illegally occupy part of its own sovereign territory? Whether or not you think that government was legitmate is a question of subjective posturing, and says nothing about the objective political state of affairs.

False. The bill was suspended because of the outbreak of the Great War.

It was the catalyst that started the war of independence ffs. It was part of a rebellion.

I'm still waiting for those Irish historians you brought who refer to it as an act of terror as well.

My friend, Ireland was Incorporated in 1801 in the Act of Union. It was part of the UK.

The Irish people were, on the whole, Home Rulers, not Republicans - at least until 1917.

because u stated history backs ur argument... yet history can be written in a slant that could make certain countries r powers to be look better or more righteous than what they actually are....so the question was
do u think if hitler had been victorious... the history books would be still demonising him or would they be lauding him:good

It wasn't a catalyst - if you knew your history you'd know that two years later there was an election - how the hell could they conduct an election if the country was in open rebellion? It was in that same year - 1918 - that the real catalyst of the rebellion began with the conscription crisis; the following year, 1919, the Anglo-Irish War began in earnest. That's a full three years after the Rising.
