Corrales vs Castillo, just to see them go ape**** when the Rocky like ending happens. All Holyfield vs Bowe bouts, to show them not only the action but the weird and curious side to the sport. Hearns vs Duran
Hamed vs Kelly Ortiz vs Maidana Forest vs Mayorga 1 Pavlik vs Miranda Anything short and action packed basically.
Maidana - Soto Karass Showed to a few friends who usually don't take interest in boxing and they all loved it.
Make it Liston-Patterson I...just perfect for a "casual sports fan's" approach to boxing, especially if he/she has the attention span of a fruit fly. I'm sure that they would summon the commitment and discipline to sit through a sport of any other kind. Again, Liston-Patterson I and not II, as that one went 4 seconds longer...wouldn't want them to get bored and lose interest.
Corrales-Castillo did it for me. I think a fight like that with a great story is perfect. If you wanna go back in the day then it has to be the Thrilla in Manilla or if you wanna go present day then I would say Marquez vs Pacquiao IV.
I was already a fan of boxing though but only a casual fan however I think those fights would work just as well for someone who doesn't watch boxing whatsoever.
Now the fight that made me a fan was Ali/Frasier I, went to the dirve in with the family to see it I was only 5 at the time. I became a boxing fan then, and have loved the sweet science every since. If any one remember they made a movie out of it so to speak with 24/7 like coverage and media sessions as a build up for the fight then showed the fight. Most awesome fight presentation ever for me.
because of the fight it was....the action...the atmospheric crisp clear black and white film of it...the great, great commentary (which alone, say if it was radio commentary, would have you on the edge of your seat)....the drama...the super-human effort from both men....i'd just have to show this as the first offering... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IksKG80ER9o [yt]IksKG80ER9o[/yt]
