Lara is no Rigo. He doesn't have the same moves. He can be hit. Freddy Hernandez was making him uncomfortable enough to resort to dirty tactics, and against Vanes, he had to pull out the entire arsenal. Additionally, his stamina is suspect. Cintron managed to handle Angulo in the clinch, years ago, but Cintron is very adept at wrestling. Since then, Angulo has teamed up with Virgil Hill, who happens to train the most adept fighter in the clinch, Andre Ward. I don't believe Lara will be as effective as he wants to be in the clinch. For a guy that has suspect stamina, and a questionable heart, the last person you want to be in with is a monster that will eat your punches and not stop coming. The question is, can Canelo beat Angulo or will his stamina let him down?
I don't believe that Lara can stop Angulo. If anything, he would have to clinch and spoil his way to victory. It is possible for him to move consistantly, but I don't think he has the stamina to do so. We will see, and I'm looking foward to it. I'm not sold on Lara. I'm not completely sold on Canelo either. Angulo is a serious test because he can take a beating and dish one out, and will fight every second of every round.
That guy took a beating of a lifetime. Very few people could take that many punches and not quit or go down. Do you think Lara is capable of taking that sort of beating?
From a purist stand point, I agree. But if you base him on heart, stamina, and ability to take punishment and dish out punishment, he's a threat. He's a big test for any boxer to get past.

It can happen he has a punchers chance thats for sure but the most likely scenario is Lara taking El Perro to school.
