But **** it make the fight. Canelo will simply be another boogie man anyway. How many times have we been down this road before. Pre-Fight: Floyd should challenge himself. He won't fight anyone with a chanc of beating him. After Beating Canelo: Floyd cherrypicked a green 22 yr old kid who made a career feasting on jr welterweights. He shoudlve fight Martinez or GGG. Rinse and repeat.
First, Floyd handler's can pull a few weigh-in tricks and make sure that Canelo feels sick as a dog the day of the fight because it is only so long one can walk dehydrated over 10% of bodyweight. Second, Floyd will never offer Canelo enough money to make it worthwhile.
Those so-called boxing fans will discredit him anyways. Don't go after them go after constructive critics like me who do give him respect. I give Floyd credit for every win he had recently other than Marquez. Still it was an interesting fight and at the time I was more concerned to see Mayweather fight again. Cotto was a solid win as well. Canelo will be a great win given Floyd's age and that he's never fought a fighter like Canelo before. I don't think its as high of a mountain to climb to beat Canelo as people think. He didn't look great against Trout and still was getting tagged by Hatton & Lopez even if they didnt hurt him. Would still be a great fight and the most meaningful to happen in these times so it has to happen.
You were el intocable? I could have sworn that was luke o at the time! I don't understand why Floyd's supposed fans are against him fighting his fellow belt holder here. 1&2 in the division, why shouldn't they fight?
These guys aren't really fans of boxing, they're fans of a boxer. Protecting their heroes record is more important to them than seeing the best fights that can be made.
The only threat hes fought since DLH, which was SIX YEARS AGO, was Mosley at the tail end of his career. Mayweather is the best but i want to see him fight the best.
Looking good or not at 154 is irrelevant. That's nobody's fault but Floyd's. He's campaigned at that weight and calls himself a 5 division champ. Prove it. I understand if PBF doesn't want to take the fight because it would be extremely difficult to win; not to mention torturous. At this point of his career and life, he has the obvious concern and responsability to weigh in pros and cons. But don't act like a ***** and make excuses for an other man. If the fight doesn't happen it is simply because Floyd pussies out. I'd understand and accept it. Just don't hide it. PBF by decision :good
Good so when the fight happens no matter what happens I dont want to hear **** about size or age. Not from you at least.
Nobody who's comparable in size to Mayweather is a threat because of the man's skills and ring IQ. Marquez was #2 or 3 p4p and has beaten everybody else he's faced in recent years except Floyd. Cotto was a bigger man, and number 154. Ortiz was the WBC WW champ, 14lbs hevaier and knocked down or out every opponent he had faced. But of course, only for Floyd are guys like that no threat.
Manny Pacquaio won a BS catchweight title at 154, yet there was no outcry or demand for him to "fight the best" and defend his titles at the weight.
Got a question....if Trout and Canelo were both 166 at the 30 day weigh-in how are they 171-172 come fight night? My understanding is the dehydration process only lasts a week or so- certainly not 30 days. When they weighed in at 166 people were saying things like "only 12 more lbs to lose" etc, yet in reality these guys are GAINING weight? Is the 171-172lbs a weight with shoes, clothes on etc? Is it the case of them stripping down to their underpants, having an empty stomach etc before the 30-day weigh in so they can be as light as possible/appear to be in good shape....and then wear full clothing, full stomach etc to be as heavy/intimidating as possible on fight night?
Pac gave up his bogus 8th title on the spot, didn't hog the belt or pretend to be a legit champ at the weight like the other guy in his 5th. In the post above you brag about Floyd beating the #1 rated SWW. With the bragging rights comes the obligation to defend against all comers at the weight, not only those that started 2 divison lower at least.
