Peter Fury is FURYous about last night fight!

If Tyson Fury wants to be a success he needs to look at sacking everyone he is currently with and going elsewhere. His whole set up is a circus dancing along to the theme tune from Johnny Briggs.

 

Why? His last fight was probably the most viewed fight involving a UK fighter of the last few years.

He is also going the exact same route Eddie would take him; IBF eliminator after eliminator route.

Tyson is probably more well known than any of Eddie's fighters.

I personally thought Fury looked overweight, flat footed, heavy legged and overall terrible. He was in better shape in the Johnson fight, it seems he went AWOL in the US, and the bright lights got to his head. LUCKILY he managed to get out of there with the W, but if we see that again, Fury will get destroyed sooner or later.

Defence was non existent and he fell straight into Nas' trap, the gameplan all along was to fool Fury into a false sense of security. They knew he would come out and try to put a show on, it was his first fight in the US. Tyson thinks he is bigger than he actually is, Nas and Cunningham knew they needed a leveler, and that leveler was to play along and play the scaredy cat, lure the bravado Fury in....and it worked a treat.

All through the build up, Fury was taunting and talking ****, as usual!

People were saying Cunningham was shook/rattled. I said few days ago I had a sneaky feeling for Cunningham. Fury was saying he is in "the best shape of his life", "nobody can beat him", "he is injured all over", but "it doesnt matter he is going to knock Cunningham out."

Fury was setting himself up for destruction. Although Fury got out with the W, he didnt really WIN this fight.

He gets in the ring and starts showing of, and just about gets up when he gets knocked down by a Cruiser he had been taunting all build up, a Cruiser he said if he didnt destroy (something he said he should be doing) or if he wasnt happy, he would retire.

The process of being able to land the KO punch was illegal, but they do say "protect yourselves at all times" and Cunningham didn't, he got himself into a corner and that was that. I don't agree with it. But this is boxing.

However, Fury should not be screaming and shouting about that, he was ordinary and lucky. He was out of control from start to finish, and even after the finish. He had a point knocked of for going in with the head, he was going in with the elbow, constantly holding on and pushing down.

He fought like a traveler and not a boxer. No place for it in a professional boxing ring.

I said months ago, he will get it, it might not be this time (nearly was) but soon enough he is gonna get it, he needs it, he needs to be humbled. It will either make him a better human being and a fighter, or it will destroy him. But he needs it.

 

I agree- the ratings last night were 2.3 million at their peak- he'd be crazy to drop Mick in the short term.

 

Yes, he did. By knock-out. Having taken Cunningham's biggest punch.

 

Not just the UK ratings, this was on 'normal' US telly in the states too.

Serious question - when was the last time a fight involving a UK fighter was watched by more people? Say 2.3m for C5 (if that's right) + whatever the last NBC fight got. I'd guess its years ago.

I know one thing for absolute fact more people watched that Fury fight than any Froch fight since he was on ITV/BBC, coincidentally when he was with Mick.

 

He needs to taste defeat, when he does, nobody will want to know.

Then he will need to prove, if he has got what it takes, or not, if he has got that champions heart, and not just a BS talker like a Haye or Harrison.

The longer he doesnt taste defeat, the more he will delude himself. I have never been so sure on something in boxing all my time watching it.

He tells everyone else that "they're gonna get it", but the ironic thing is, while his eye is on everyone else, he is gonna get a true Heavyweights punch, a fighter who he takes for granted, and he is gonna get it straight down the middle, flush, and he will be out.

Fury is not that good to be able to avoid the shot, and I dont care what a single person on this planet says, if you get hit by a heavyweight on the money and you dont see it coming, you going to sleep.

Fury is an accident waiting to happen. He thinks he is big time, but his number 1 sparing partner is Hughie Fury.

He is gonna get it. As he himself puts it.

The point is.

1) Cunningham is not a renowned power puncher.
2) He is a Cruiser.

Tyson Fury may have got the W, but he didnt win this fight, if anything it will make him even more deluded and just delay the inevitable. Had he not finished the fight when he did (by any means necessary) I reckon Cunningham would have gotten the decision. Cunningham was only hurt twice in the whole fight, a body shot, and the finishing punch. He took all of Fury's output, and still came forward, rocking the wide open Fury a few times in the process. Fury ought to be lucky he was allowed to finish the fight in that fashion, the reality is, against a proper world level heavyweight, Fury wouldnt have made it to that point. It would of been finished in round 2, when he was put down like a tree.

Only they wont be shouting timber, it'll be AMBULANCE! AMBULANCE!

Just feed this wannabe nutter to David "The Humbler" Haye, put him out of his misery, give him what he wants! Haye has already humbled that ***** Chisora, he can help Fury to!

 

I thought Fury did pretty well. He was up pretty fast, didn't look overly hurt and kept his composure. Really impressive stuff. Soon as he got back to his boxing he absolutely ruined Cunningham.

I will never understand how people slate Mick. He's done an amazing job getting fighters in front of a big TV audience. He's done a great job with Fury and he's helping him to move along as a good pace.

 

I concede Fury is a decent boxer when he wants to be. Buts its very much all the gear, no idea. If he is so dependent on Peter, then thats a worry in itself. That tells me Fury has no self initiative in the ring.

People slate Tyson for taking punches, but on two occasions he has taken shots, gotten back up dusted himself up and got the job done. Its like he needs the wake up call, but someday he aint gonna get a second chance, he wont be able to get up. Its worrying that two smallish fighters have got through and landed big.

Boxing is very much about the more you take, the worse you become at taking over time, and an iron chin doesnt last forever if it keeps getting touched. Nothing does.

Tyson cannot afford to keep taking shots like that. Its silly, neither should he welcome it to be "woke up".....he should be bright eyed and busy tailed the moment he steps over the ropes.

 

Thankfully for Fury, heavyweight is such a **** division that there are only two or three guys that could flatten him.
