Peter Fury is FURYous about last night fight!

What kind of bull**** is that. Seriously, what the f*ck is about that tall **** Hearn that is so good? What does he bring for Tyson that he doesn't already have?

He doesn't have the backing of C5, Mick does. I'm no fan of fat Mick, but he's done nothing wrong with Tyson. He's consistently getting him fights, having him fight in America which is a great thing and the opponents he's facing are GOOD. There is no other British fighter right now that is getting the sort of exposure Fury is.

To say he should move to Hearn would be scandalous.

Division is **** poor, but I still say even a **** fighter who can dig, or even someone with a punchers chance could finish Tyson if he fights like he did in those first few rounds.

More than any other boxer I've ever seen, Fury seems determined to win not for himself, but for his family. He seems desperate to want to make his family proud of him and that seems to be his driving force, so it makes sense that Peter Fury would be the one who can make him motivated more than anyone else. Maybe he needs a close member of his family there, not just to keep his feet on the ground, but to make him realise why he's fighting and who he's fighting for? There definitely seemed to be a lack of focus last night and I doubt that would have been the case if Peter was there, maybe for the reasons I mentioned above. It's all speculation, of course, but it seems to tie in with Fury's deep pride about his background.

 

Peter Fury imo is crucial to Tyson. He talks sense in the corner and seems to get through to Tyson.

 

I thought he looked much more athletic in the Kevin Johnson fight aswell

 

Yeah, I also think Tyson Fury may have been aware of these facts.... Fury fought like he did against Cunningham with the confidence that Cunningham didn't have the power to KO him. He put on a great show for the US audience and, despite Cunningham's successes here and there, I don't really see how Cunningham could have won that fight.

If you think Fury would fight like that against Haye...you have to think Fury is a total idiot and you underestimate him, probably based on his antics outside the ring.

Fury boxed twelve rounds pretty tightly against Johnson, and, although he would need even better concentration against as fast a fighter as Haye, that fight would be competitive. Haye would need to do to Fury what he did to Chisora i.e. stop a previously unstoppable fighter before his own poor stamina could become a factor.

 

Come on, that's the second time he's been really hurt and dropped by overhand rights! Haye is a level above Cunningham in terms of power (a few levels above Pajkic) AND is best shot is the big right hand hayemaker.

Fury would get stopped by Haye and it would be pretty easy IMO. If Wlad had trouble hitting Haye then Fury will. That low left hand against Haye would just be plain silly. I also imagine that Fury would get carried away with the occasion and trash talk and probably lose his head in there.

There is nothing that Fury can really say to get at Haye. He isn't better looking (something TF is always talking about now), isn't as popular, isn't as powerful, isn't as experienced (in big fights, grudge domestic fights or title fights) and simply isn't as good.

Haye is a younger, stronger, more experienced (at the weight and against big fighters) and more powerful than Cunningham. Relatively easy win for Haye.

 

Lilo...look at it this way - was Chisora a 'relatively easy win for Haye'?

On the one hand, yes, Haye won by KO and Chisora never really hurt him.

But, on the other hand, was the fight 'competitive'? Yes. If Haye hadn't landed the big punches in the 5th and Chisora had instead got him into the championship rounds where form suggests Haye would seriously tire...Haye gambled on getting Chisora out of there, and his gameplan came off but Haye was already breathing through his mouth at the close.

I'd make Haye the favourite against Fury, sure, but Fury showed against Cunningham just what a massive size advantage he'd have over Haye, and his own excellent stamina.

 

I thought it was relatively easy. As easy as a fight can be against a contender. He was never hurt, won every round and was able to do exactly what he wanted. You seem to be making a lot from Haye breathing through the mouth. His stamina wasn't a problem when he went twelve with Valuev and Wlad. 'Form suggests' that he had his best/most aggressive rounds in both round 12s of those fights.

I don't think stamina will come into it though, Haye will spark him. His best shot is the exact shot Fury has been down twice from. Both times those fighters were inferior to Haye especially in terms of power.

Wlad and Valuev weren't able to impose their size on Haye. What suggests Fury would be able to? If he tries to get inside and lean on him he'll be getting smashed with a big right on the way in.

Just because Fury is big and Haye has gassed in one fight, years ago doesn't mean Tyson will win. I wouldn't take 10/1 for Fury.

 

Peter Fury is understandably resentful that he wasn't allowed in to the USA for the fight.
But I don't agree with what he says about Tyson's performance.

Many people are talking crap here about the performance.
Tyson Fury's never been much better than that against a quality opponent. An in-shape, motivated Steve Cunningham is by far the best man he's faced.

Haye had his chance against Wlad and blew it with a timid performance. Tyson may not last the full 12, but he would go for it. Am pretty sure he would remind Haye of this in the build-up.

Both are vulnerable, both talk well and both can punch. Would be a great fight.

 

Yeah the division is at a weak ebb at the moment.Fury has talent but the way he fought Saturday many of the heavies of the 90's some of whom got nowhere near titles like Golota,Morrison,Ruddock,Bruno would have flattened him.Looking back these were big guys that could hit.There is very few of them around now.
