Is it still china chin if you get knocked down by a feather puncher. But you get up and your sturdy and got your legs under you? Because people are assuming Fury has a glass chin because CUnningham knocked him down. But Fury got straight up and his legs were under him. Surely if your chin is china, you get up and your all jelly legged like Khan vs Garcia or Price vs Thompson. Or is that not the case. If your just succeptable to getting knocked down, but recover fast and well. Are you still china? Because to me once china is smashed, there's no repairing.
You don't need a chin checker to tell you that Tyson Fury is hiding a disgraceful glass jaw, just like you don't need a doctor to tell you that a person who suddenly starts forgetting things to the point he/she fails to recognise friends and family could possibly be suffering from Alzheimer's.

My question is. Shouldn't a chin be judged based on how there whole body is after taking the shot. Fury so far has been KD twice, but got straight back up and seemed fine. If he was all jelly legged and holding to survive then fine, but he wasn;t
that's debatable. He laid there for 5 seconds. But that looked to me like he was taking his time. (Not definetly though) Still he took a huge shot from a light puncher. He went down, but he never showed many signs of being hurt. When wlad gets tagged he goes jelly. SHould that not be what we're looking for?
Good question it is a pretty broad term "glass jawed." I'd say Fury is more a case of bad defence than having a glass chin as he recovers well and, so far, has come back the stronger fighter after being put down. You can put two spins on it. Chinny is one and the other is that Fury has great heart. It seems to depend on what side of the pond you live as to what view you take. Bad defence, big heart thats my view of Fury. I like the guy and live in Scotland though so maybe I'm bias.
both times he's been KD, he's won by Knockout himself later in the fight. You can't drop china, then expect to make a cup of tea out of it later that evening.
Point of this thread is. Until Tyson gets dropped and can't get up. Or is all wobbly legged. I'm not gonna label him Chinny.
I think people talking about all these 'featherfisted' professional heavyweight boxers are a bit dim.
Considering who Fury has to fight in this division & who he got dropped by... I think it is safe to label him as "Chinny" for a giant.
Well, when you can do basic math and the KO rates are low what does that mean? Only the Brits on here think Cunningham can punch at Heavyweight. He wasn't even a puncher at Cruiserweight :rofl Facts tell us he isn't a puncher. Sorry.
That is all fine and dandy but there is enough evidence by now to tell us he does not have good Punch Resistance. When you are getting knocked down by fighters with 30% KO rates you don't have a Chin. It is that simple.
First comparison which comes to mind is JMM. Gets knocked down occasionally, never looked hurt and comes back to win. Think the jury is out on Fury's chin so far, think if it was pure glass he'd have been on ***** street when he got chopped down. but he cleared his head and got on with it. Cunningham isn't a puncher though, so you'd think anyone with a chin can take a cruiserweight's shots, but this was a clean big right hand, and it landed right on the payzone. he didn't have jelly legs or anything which leads me to believe this was more down to lack of defence and balance rather than lack of chin.
