Best fights to show a non boxing-fan?

Anything early Mike Tyson. Show someone that and they will think that not only is boxing the greatest thing in the world but, also Mike Tyson is the greatest fighter that ever lived......Then tell them that Tyson worshipped Jack Dempsey and show them Dempsey-Willard.

After that show them Pacquaio - Barrera I, or Marquez I, or Hatton. They will think that this little fighter is the most demonic animal that ever fought and will think he is the greatest fighter that ever lived. ......Then tell them that there once existed and animal from the far reaches of...Pamama and show them.

Lastly have them watch Floyd Mayweather Jr versus Corrales, or Gatti. They will think that have just witnessed the great display of boxing that could ever be......Then give two Sugar's...versus Hearns I and Lamotta VI.

Casuals want that, not black and white fights

 

True. Most casuals have the attention span of a goldfish with ADHD. Unless both fighters are duking it out from the opening bell they start to turn away. It's like they expect every fight to have Monshipour vs Sithchatchawal levels of action in it.

 

If you are doing it to hook them I would go for Foreman V Lyle but start with Mancini V Frias

 

Most casuals don't care about technique or subtle displays of the sweet science. If two guys are free swinging that'll do them.

 

Foreman vs Lyle doesn't really get nuts till a few rounds in. Most will have turned off by then. Lennox vs Vitali is better from an instant excitement point of view.

 

Yeah but if you had read the post correct then I said start with Mancini V Frias. If you can't get hyped about that fight your clinically dead or don't have any interest in the sport.
