Not only Chavez v.s. Taylor I and II but in other fights of JCC as well. I noticed this strange thing many times before JCC retired. Edwin Rosario, Loyd Hulligan, Hector Camacho, and many others.

I didn't suspect JCC's stamina, endurance, and his heart but I suspected his punching power.

Also, watching the Taylor-Chavez fight the fight is very similar to Leonard-Duran I. Duran arguably has the same punching as Chavez yet Leonard's face wasn't mush after their fight. Both fighters stayed on the inside with heads against the other's shoudlers.

Admittedly, instead of out-boxing Chavez and staying away from the inside where Chavez is much more dominant Taylor should have stayed on the outside move in jab move out. He made big mistakes and his punching power is pretty low. Not to diss Taylor but this man didn't hurt Chavez at all! His face was clean after the fight. His power is like Paulie Malignaggi.

Taylor was so stupid to trade punches with JCC in the last round when he was winning the fight. If he had boxed Chavez in the last round, he would have been the winner. You can't blame anyone but your own.

Anyway, this isn't the point we're talking about now. What I really wonder is why the faces of many of his opponents turned to be like that after fighting him.

De La Hoya's face was swelling when the second fight was stopped by the ref. If the fight had continued to the end, his face would have been the same as Taylor's.

Against Chavez? In his prime De La Hoya's face was usually clean.

The swelling of the faces of people can be affected by many other factors other than allegedly loaded gloves. There is no basis to suspect any wrongdoing.

Chavez causes this because of the volume of punches and not because the gloves were loaded. I guess you have never seen him fight..he lands very accurate well placed punches throughout his fights.

what's the deal with you making trollbait threads then bumping them every three weeks? Isn't that a ban offense?

I bumped it because it is relevant to the subject of fighter's using loaded gloves for which there is a big discussion going on with Margarito in the other thread.

I agree. Neither Cotto nor Taylor took the kinds of beatings that should have been necessary to sustain the severe damage they both showed at the end of their fights. Neither fight looks right to me.

I'm going to have to go back and watch/rewatch some of these more carefully.

You should have taken those beatings instead and sent back to your family in a garbage bag.
