Quality of shots landed. Fantastic counter hooks and straights. Controlled the last minute, Trout faded badly.

    If you dominate the round.

I personally still had it 10-8, but Canelo took the rest of the round off.

    **** the 12th round.

trout won the sixth round and disregarding the seventh round knockdown the sixth round was the most dominating by either of the two fighters.

That's a good card. I had it 116-114 Canelo and scored the 3rd round even as well.

I believe I had the same score. Except I gave Trout the 12th and I don't believe Trout was able to win the 7th round back 10-9, you really need to come back dominantly, not just make a stand and do well. But I had the same apportionment of rounds, 6-6.

I like scoring the round first and then deducting points for knockdowns.
I think thats the fairest way to do it, though official judges and fans dont score that way.

I scored the 7th a 10-8 Canelo because I thought he won the round even without the knockdown happening. He scored with the much heavier shots as a whole in the round, thus I'd have given him a 10-9 without a knockdown. With the knockdown it became a 10-8.

If anyone thought Trout had a clear edge in the round without taking into account the knockdown, I'm fine with you scoring 10-9 Canelo.

I've scored rounds even when a flash knockdown occurs.
Fighter A can completely dominate a round and suffer a flash knockdown.
This is where a 10-9 for fighter A becomes a 10-10 because of the flash knockdown suffered.

People need to think and use common sense during scoring when a knockdown occurs.

I also scored the 12th for Canelo. Quality over quanity, and alot of Trouts shots during that round were missing. I did'nt even think twice to give the round to Canelo as he clearly imo landed the more effective shots.

He ended the round with Canelo backed up on the ropes. Canelo landed 2, maybe 3 decent shots in that whole round as I recall. Trout worked harder, landed good shots and as I said, ended it backing Canelo up. Is that not dominant? Don't know what else he could have done to get back the point apart from knocking down Canelo too.

Exactly how did trout control the rest of the round he didnt land any shots that evened up the round not to me he didnt.
The Majority of trouts shots were not clean effective shots, sure they some of them land but there is nothing on them

By that reasoning, no feather fisted fighter would ever win a round.

Someone sees sense. :good Those lovely counters late on were just about enough to me to give it to him. And yes, Trout went completely missing for the last minute or so of the round.

No its not about the fact that Trout doesnt have the same power when I say clean and effective I am talking about with snap behind them, they dont have to be heavy shots but they should be solid and turned over.

Trout in that round after the knock down did land a few shots but he did not turn them over there was no snap on them cus he was hurt. a clean effective scoring shot to me is when you throw shots with intent.

Not when you throw shots just to make contact, and Trout didnt do that in that round. he threw more of what I would call stay away from me please shots.

its like Divac said Quality over quantity

Those who did'nt score round 7 10-8 should rewatch the round again.
Trout had his moment, but Canelo landed much the heavier shots and closed the last 30 seconds of the round strong landing heavy artillery.
No way did Trout do enough to merit bringing the round to a 10-9.

True, but I also give Trout credit for landing and doing that well while clearly still hurt. He didn't go to the ropes, didn't cover up, but stood and boxed his way out of trouble. Maybe the heart he showed influenced me to leave it a 10-9, I can't say. You're welcome to your opinion, but it just felt like a 10-9 to me so that's how I scored it. :conf
