    If Canelo pulled out of the May 4 fight bcoz Mayweather would not guarantee a fight why is he now so desperate to get a fight with Mayweather? Does he really think he can pull out of the May 4 fight and still expect a payday from Mayweather?

    He was always desperate for a Floyd fight, hence wanting a guarantee. It was Floyd who wasn't confident he wanted the fight, after all Canelo could have lost but still have a guarantee.

    Either way, fight won't happen. Denying fans fights keeps a smile on Mayweather's face, his 0 intact, and money flowing in.

    Ha can fight Cotto before 50k and pull a million PPV buys, and if he does so, where will that leave Floyd? There isn't another huge opponent out there, and right now the Canelo buzz is booming. So in a sense Floyd needs Canelo more than Canelo needs Floyd.

    He pulled out of Floyd's card, because Floyd went back on his word.

    There was a lot of interest in Canelo's fight with Trout, as we all saw.

    Why would Canelo help boost Floyd's ratings, if he wasn't going to get anything at the end?

    Floyd's sales are going to plummet if he fights someone like Alexander next. Seems his money is guaranteed by large amounts, so good on him. Showtime isn't going to be happy about it, although I'd be shocked if they didn't leave themselves some influence on opponents considering the enormous investment they've made.

    The terms were if both fighters won their respective bouts. It wasn't a guarantee no matter what. This is common knowledge...funny how Floyd fans have to twist the truth in order to make Floyd look more credible and less cowardly :hey

    this.. he handed Floyd a shitload of sales when he fought Mosley on the Cotto undercard, he would have added at least another half million in this fight for Floyd. The only one gonna suffer at this point is Floyd.

    He can even say he wants it on the Mexican holiday.

    :yep

    Anyway, Floyd's sales strategy since Hatton has gone like this:

    Long Layoff -----> OK Opponent ----> Big Name Opponent
    -------------------> Marquez -----------> Mosley
    -------------------> Ortiz -----------------> Cotto
    -------------------> Guerrero -----------> ???????

    Canelo isnt stupid, he knows what he brings to the table the Trout attendance proved that, 38 thousand tickets sold to fight a guy not many people know about.

    Canelo is a massive draw, knowing that, Canelo knew that Floyd fighting Guerrero was a **** fight, and with out Canelo on the card would do **** numbers.

    So he basically told Oscar and Floyd, I am not going to help make Floyd more money for fighting Guerrero if he will not fight me in september.
    No way is Floyd going to make PPV money on my name so if Floyd dont fight me in September I aint going to make him extra money in may

    Good luck selling this **** fight, with a **** undercard

    A lot of people thought Trout was going to convincingly put a halt to the Canelo hype including me, and that this situation wouldn't be progressing. Guess what, he didn't. Not even close. Canelo is on the rise big time now, and it isn't going to be long before there's an issue over purse splits and **** if Floyd waits any longer than his very next fight. His decline is in full swing now and he'd best serve himself to take it already, ready to go, in-shape with no ring rust and at the best he could possibly be at this stage. Canelo has a lot of improvements to make, Floyd's got a lot of ability to lose, There's a lot of money to be had.

    I'd be surprised if Canelo's next fight wasn't on PPV, Floyd or not.

    38 000 people buying tickets at $10 is being a draw man, that's the price of a burger. How many PPVs has Canelo done?
