It's true, but I already got burned by him over this Trout thing. That **** on Saturday night was a spectacle and set records for the network (yes, the non-charging variety obviously). Do you think Canelo-Cotto wouldn't sell? I'm afraid it would, and very well.

Canelo sold 38,000 10 dollar tickets

    Be still my beating heart

Canelo needs Floyd more. Floyd has a guarantee, Canelo has nothing with a fairly talented division devoid of big names. He moves up to middleweight he takes an ass whooping

His ceiling isnt high my friends

Could be, but I'm skeptical as **** now. I thought he'd get his ass beat in the ring, but I've never doubted GBP's ability to market him. Just feels like it's going to be coming on very strong now in bigger waves.

Even if Mayweather fights the likes of Khan, Garcia or Lucas it won't outsale a Canelo/Cotto. The only opponents for Mayweather that can compete against a Canelo/Cotto is Floyd/Pac and Floyd/Martinez and those aren't happening. Sooner or later Floyd will have no other option but to fight Canelo for his biggest payday. He already missed his chance with Pac, I don't think he will miss it again with Canelo, specially since they both have the same promoter and network station.

GBP makes money off organizing Floyd's events and are responsible for writing up the bout contracts but I don't think there's any way they cater to him over their house prized possession like they did feeding him an Ortiz or Guerrero. If Canelo wants September 14, he's going to get it especially with an opponent like Cotto to make a huge spectacle out of it (Canelo's hype, Cotto's name, Mexico-PR, Mexican Holiday.. FFS). They get a piece of Floyd events, with Canelo they get the whole pie. Where does that leave Floyd? His undercard? The venue?

Floyd lost out with Canelo pulling out of the fight. Canelo also proved how big he is in boxing now.

He pulled out of May 4th because:
    • If he's gonna' take a paycut to help enhance Mayweather's buys, he at least wants to be guaranteed a fight with Mayweather after.
    • Mayweather went back on his word.
Why not. Canelo having his own seperate event -- with almost 40,000 people in attendance -- has enhanced his reputation as the next major attraction of the sport. He'll help Mayweather generate money that no other opponent will.

Floyd-Martinez is not that big a seller - Floyd-Pac, Floyd-Marquez are 2 fights that could compete with Canelo-Cotto

At this point, Floyd-Canelo is the biggest fight that can be made in boxing.(besides mayweather-pacquiao) Canelo has great advisors. Canelo does NOT need Floyd to be a ppv attraction. While I think that Mayweather-Guerrero will do well...it will be his lowest selling fight since Marquez.
