In all those years of training, why cant this guy throw a simple jab or anything remotely behind it? Hes terrible, he has one dimension and that's BJJ. Hope someone like a Struve or Browne knock him out of the top 10!

hes undoubtedly on peds but to this day i still believe mirs ideal size is that of when he fought ian freeman. even though he lost that fight he was so much more mobile, fit and athletic then.

Mir was 250 lbs against Tank Abbott in 2003. He has been big for a long time. I also don't know that fighters get hrt just because they were juicing, and have low test as a result. People in their 30's don't produce as much testosterone as people in their 20's, and I wonder if that is the scale at which these prescriptions are being given on. Fighter: "I don't have the testosterone level that I had 10 years ago." Doctor: "You are suffering from lower testosterone levels. Let me give you this. Just keep a 4:1 ratio in Nevada, and 6:1 in California."

Then again, I remember Mir saying he wanted to make a run at 205 several years ago. Maybe he knew he could get a lot smaller. Maybe he couldn't, as it never happened.

    I don't know.

As you're probably aware the average ratio for a man is 1:1 bear that in mind.......The only people that need HRT are those with serious endocrine related issues. In other words the very ill. Frank is a healthy athlete. He doesn't fit into that category.
And yes i recall a few years ago, i believe prior to the Lesnar fight he mooted making 205. But its common knowledge that Mir was a fat **** since he was a child he turned to martial arts so he could get in shape. Now he's a diesel 260lbs and despite his 'testosterone levels' dropping off he's now in better physical conditioning than he was 10 years ago....HRT will do that to you...

Franks a deceptively big bloke. He may not look it next to Carwin or Lesnar but those are man bears. Franks a well built 6'3 man. He'd dwarf most people other than some fighters.

Didn't know he had a TRT exemption, which I'm totally against.

No he's not. He's not a muscular and natural 260lbs by any stretch of the imagination. And both Carwin and Lesnar were also on gear for long periods of their career. So it makes your comparison a bit academic.

Yes, he is. At 6'3 he will weigh in comfortably over 200 pounds. He has a solid build. His optimum weight is somewhere around 235 but that is at a fighter. 235 in shape fighter is probably in the 260s easy if he wasn't fighting and losing weight.

Lesnar and Carwin without gear are still mammoths so the comparison is still relevant. Did steroids alone make Lesnar and Carwins hands grow to the size of someone who is probably 6 or 7 inches taller than them; no, they are simply huge.

Hamza, you always have atg avatars! :good What happened to your old account?

Anyway, yes Mir has tested positive in the past, and is now on HRT or TRT. Regarding the fight, he phoned it in and Cormier respected him enough as a vet of the sport to comply with the age old "silent agreement". This fight turned into a sparring session with Cormier doing just enough to win each round. There was never any urgency for either fighter to finish the fight. They were content to just go through the motions.

Yeah, yeah...all that's true. I'm not disagreeing. I wonder if some of these doctors, which are nothing more than dealers, are justifying the prescription based on the athletic commissions' set limits. Like: "This guy only has a 1:1 ratio. Some of his respective competitors are at 4:1. His testosterone production is low. I will write him a prescription. There is your medical justification." Of course most, if not all, of the 4:1 guys in the division are on something as well.

On top of that it's proof, at least for me, nobody gives a flying **** about this except the fan...some fan...and even if those fan would be consistent they wouldn't even tune in to watch geared up fraud fighting each other...

So yeah, IMO nobody gives a flying **** about this !

You're dam right they're f'in dealers. Doctors my ass. The ratio is a joke and varies from state to state anyway. And why is it acceptable for Pro HEALTHY athletes to have higher TE ratios than normal adults?
