A good fight if it happens no doubt, but I'd rather see JMM/Bradley... I'm curious as to what's next for JMM if this happens. Certainly seems like a way to make him come around and take the fight at the beginning of next year.

As JMM already proved, it's not always about the money. Timmy already has
an official win over Pac, having JMM's name on his resume will only enhance his legacy.

Plus Pac and Arum are only using Timmy as bait, they really want Pac's conqueror.
JMM vs Pac did over 1 mill PPV
    Pac vs Bradley around 700K

    Tough choice:think

jmm is either a fool or scared or he doesn't need the money.

bait or not 6 mil is way more than what a jmm fight will bring.

jmm was more known than timmy was at the time they fought pac. if timmy and pac fight this time around, it should go over 1mil.

He just doesn't need Pac! He has schooled him and he has Knocked him the **** out. Which only makes your insinuation that he's scared of Pac even funnier. Bottom line, Another win over Pac really means nothing to JMM and does nothing more for his Legacy. Winning a 5th div title does.

But we agree that Pac cant do over a mill ppvs without a solid partner. :deal

    I agree.

The rematch element and controversy from the first adds spice to it.

And whatever zest and drawing power Pacquiao may have lost with the JMM KO, Bradley makes up for it with his Provodnikov being one of the more talked about fights in a long while.

People here are just silly - yeah, it's all out of spite. It's business, not spite and Marquez was fully aware of the situation.

Bradley's stock in terms of appeal has gone up since the Prov fight. He also holds a belt. He's also with Top Rank. He is more popular than Alvarado. The fact it's a rematch and Pac got KTFO means there's a good backstory and a title on the line

Everyone knew Bradley would be Pacquiao's second choice.

So now the haters are like "It's out of spite" - here's the bottom line:

Juan Manuel Marquez was offered $14m recently for the Pacquiao fight and turned it down. That's about 3x his best ever purse! I understand he feels he has nothing left to prove, but bottom line is it's not as simple as that in terms of what went down in the 4th fight and when there's that kind of money on offer it's usually a game changer.

He's also turning into a big head generally with regards to Bradley, has got a huge opinion of his own self-worth all of a sudden, arrogantly announcing a Sep 14th fight as official when Dunkin said he knows nothing whatsoever anout that and Top Rank have denied it also. Koncz has confirmed Dunkin was faxed a $6m offer for Bradley to fight Pacquiao - Dunkin wants that fight to happen. $6m vs $1m to fight Marquez, it's a good offer

No, sorry - it's all out of spite :patsch
This is a game of business, Marquez thinks he's a big player and is throwing his weight around when the fact is he never held many cards to begin with. The only cards he held was at the negotiating table with Pacquiao - he is not in a position to dictate. If he gets the Bradley fight it will only be because Arum is happy with how it works out for Pacquiao in the long run - Marquez can't outmanoeuvre old Bob Arum

its tough because he wont get 2 gifts in a row so he has to weigh up

    1. is it worth more cash to fight pac and risk getting a blemish on his record.. though id count the robbery as a massive skidmark on it regardless

    2. will marquez be an easier fight for me?

    3. has the knockout pac suffered done enough to further drop him from his prime..

3mill isent a big difference when fighters have a long career ahead of them like bradleys

there's really no shame losing a fight as long as you did your very best. there's a lot of successful great fighters with losses in their record.

    They'll buy it because:

    a) Pac got KTFO and want to see how it affects him
    b) Enough time has gone on since the 1st fight to allow it to fester. It's more attractive now
    c) Only very naive people expect Bradley to go toe to toe, but his appeal is greater now

People have an over-inflated sense of what a Marquez-Bradley fight is worth in terms of purse...$3m each won't happen...$2m is more likely
