    Can we get a top 5 from a few of the more learned Boxing fans?

    It's quite interesting to see such highly skilled guy's fail in such a highly skilled sport. It is a testament to how complex the sport of Boxing really is.

    In 1976 Howard Davis Jr. defeated Thomas Hearns in the amateurs in Las Vegas at the National AAU finals, which qualified him for the Olympic trials in Ohio.

    Deafeated Aaron Pryor in the Olympic trials to earn a berth spot on the 1976 Olympic team at 132 pounds.

    Won the 1976 Olympic Gold Medal.

    Upon his return from the Olympics - the City of Glen Clove - honored him with a parade.

    Davis Jr. turned pro after winning the Olympics. He retired in 1988 and made brief comeback in 1994. Davis officially retired in 1996 with a professional record of: 36-6-1 with 14 KO's.

    Yes, he performed pretty well for two minutes until he got punched out of the fight...

    He performed very well last month against Larsen too.

    been a ton. a lot we never even heard of. Olympic boxing is overrated. I knew a dude that won ohio state fair an had a insane amateur record. Turned pro and is struggling an about to retire

    I remember a guy called James Baba Busceme was reportedly 520-13 as an amatuer - but some mean Junkyard Dogs showed it was a different world in the Pro's...

    Likewise good things were expected of flashy Kenneth Gould, again not to be..

    Ed Hopson is another trumpeted prospect that fell away quite quickly
