    This is a 75/25 split?

That's 17.25 million for Wlad, 5.75 million for Povetkin.

I can totally imagine one of those russian trillionaires paid this from his pocket and doesn't give a **** if it makes sense, he just wants to host the biggest fight in Russian history.

Hey, if some guy wants to throw 17 million dollars at Wlad for no reason, I guess he might as well take it. Povetkin is a reasonable challenge but the champ really shouldn't have any problems beating him.

I guess. But he could have bid half that and still won the bid.

I reckon this bid will fall through and K2 will promote.

Seems a little too good to be true. How do you recoup that kinda money in this fight, let alone a make a profit?

The only way would be PPV.

Some have said, "well it's a Russian billionaire he doesn't care". Well, that could be . .. but throwing away money is not how most billionaires became so.

And if you wanted the fight in Russia that badly you'd just chuck 3 million at Sauerland to win the purse bid host it in Russia.

    :good

So this Billionaire, who is Povetkin's manager (and a promoter, just not Povetkin's), outbid Povetkins own promotional company (Sauerland) and K2 to take the winning bid....and there was no "agreement" of sorts between him and Sauerland (that we know of anyway).

Looks like Hryunov has promoted 21 fights, as recent as this year, and dating back to 2003.
All have taken place in Russia.
