    As 1 pure boxer , Cooney in his Prime was FASTER , Hit Harder , n had superior ABILITIE!

    Cooney is basicaly
    Fury's size , so fury cud not bully ,
    Cooney . Cooney wud STARCH him w/ Left hooks , he wud connect first due ,
    2 his superior sp33d , & superior COMBINATION Punching!

    the Cooney I remember would send him home like a school boy beaten up in the playground.

    this is what really gets troubling about boxing today, though most people understand there is a definate difference in the level of fighters, once it gets tossed around long enough too many begin to warm up to the idea.

    I don't care IF Fury beats Haye and both Klits in the next year or so, he is STILL NOT in the same class as hundreds of heavyweights before him, No!

    I don't think Fury can neutralize Cooney's left hand and he definitely does not carry more firepower. So Cooney in a shootout, Fury is a bit too open to survive the bludgeoning power of the Cooney left.

    Fury is not complete work yet. Lets see how his career plays out.

    Conney was unreached potential. He beat up three old ass 2nd level has beens, something Fury would have little problems accomplishing.

    I think I will take Fury in this one. He's got more guts, more balls... Tho Cooney certainly hit harder with his one punch.

    Far lighter punchers have had Fury hurt. Cooney would bomb him out within three rounds I reckon, not in the same class.

    Gerry Cooney by KO. Cooney was a knockout artist and he could have had a lengthier career had he not fought Holmes earlier, he was still developing. Similar to Vargas facing Trinidad when he was still green.
