How does his legacy compare to Gran Campeon Mexicano?

Does he equal Chavez Sr or he'll never make it? Or some of you actually believes he's done more especially after beating Pacquiao?

    Discuss.

The 4 fights with Pacquiao and the Barrera bout actually equal it out for me. Maybe even edges it.

The norm of most boxing fans is that a new school champion could never be better than a legend, no matter who he beats

He has a legitimate claim to being the greatest Mexican of all time.

I'm guessing that would also make him the first Latino 5 division world champion.

Druan, Morales and Leo Gamez had 4. Arguello and Benitez had 3.

And I'm waiting for someone to correct me as I'm really not that sure.

    H2H ability, Chavez fares better.
Chavez had no trainer up until championship level.
Chavez fought more champions, and would beat the likes of Bradley, Norwood, Salido etc. with ease.
Pacquiao would beat Chavez and a majority do believe this, however there's a big amount of people that believe Chavez will win, perhaps by TKO or close decision - so it's similar to the Pacquiao-Marquez construct.

    Chavez is definitely the greatest.
In fact, Marquez is further down the list..

    1. Chavez
    2. Olivares
    2. Sanchez
    4. Saldivar
    5. Marquez
    6. Zarate

(Always seem to forget Sanchez for some reason).

theres too many damn "world title" belts for even a 4 division champ these days to seem like some great feat

    WBA regular
    WBA super
    WBA interim
    WBC
    WBC interim
    WBC champion in recess
    IBF
    WBO
    WBO interim

JMM dont need those **** belts , a tim bradley scalp would hold more water than some interim garbage belt

i agree.... because of his age he has been around long enough to have fought the true champions, he is the exception to the rule

Top 3 is solid but I would put Sanchez and Canto above the other 2.
