So.. A Pro Debut is good enough for a stadium, probably the only venue to hold the ammount of tickets that will sell up there, but still won't sell out. BUT Hasn't Eddie totally contradicted himself here? I remember a iFilm interview where Kugs asked the question why Froch v Kessler is at the O2 & isn't in a stadium. Eddie said.. "Putting boxing on in a stadium is a complete pain in the arse" etc, etc, etc. (can't find which interview it was but I'm sure it was when they first announced it at the O2) So, why give Campbell the KC (25,500 capacity, probably more for boxing), which he won't sell out... Yet give Froch v Kessler the O2 when it would of filled almost any stadium in the country.
Fair enough... but that doesn't answer why Eddie has contradicted himself. Like I said, Froch v Kessler would of sold a bigger stadium but Eddie said it's a pain in the ass... So why do it for little Luke?
What alternative arena-like venues are there around Hull? I think Froch v Kessler is more one for the hardcore fans, willing to pay higher amounts for tickets for a good veiw etc. Whilst he can flog more cheaper tickets, build up an atmosphere, thus attracting the wider/casual market he wants to tap into. It works IMO.
I'd be shocked if this DIDN'T sell out, Luke is big big news in hull, with everything I hear about concerts before and after the fights I think this will be a very big event, not much happens in hull so something like this will be huge IMO, hope it all goes well could be great for the area to get a boxing scene going, it's been dead for long enough
