Let's have a bit of realism here. I doubt there's a fighter in the country who could pull in stadium-sized crowds on their own without having a big name opponent, yet a four round debutant the casual fan won't have heard of is being talked about filling a football ground?

Froch fight is in May (more chance of rain) plus Saureland wanted it in London so it's easier for Danish fans to get to.

Casual fans do know who Campbell is. Of all the professional fighters in British boxing right now, he has the potential to be the biggest draw of the them all, I think. He's very popular because of the Olympics and then Dancing on Ice, and if he keeps winning, he could develop a fanbase like Hatton had.

its not a contradiction. If Froch v Kessler could only sell big tickets in Nottingham that's where it would take place. But it can sell anywhere so he puts in on at the 02 where 18,000 will make more than 25,000 at a stadium due to increased costs.

Luke Campbell won't do 10,000+ anywhere but Hull. So the fight has to be in Hull.

According to fast Eddie on sky sports news app. He reckons a 10 rounder for brook on Campbell's undercard and then a 'big fight' at the Motorpoint Sheffield in wait for it.... September! :rofl :rofl

I just don't know when to take Eddie Hearn is serious these days:lol: because that is clearly not going to happen.

Nobody will ever have a fanbase like Hatton had/has.

Kessler brings a lot to the table for the London fight in terms of attendance. He brought a a fair few to Cardiff for the Calzaghe fight. Froch had trouble selling out the Nottingham arena for Bute - that didn't sell out as easily as people imagine. Froch-Kessler wouldn't have been a guaranteed sell-out above 20,000 anywhere, including Nottingham. The fact it's a sell-out right now also shows the disgraceful nature of the unregulated secondary ticket market.

Annoys me when people say "He won't fight anybody decent next" without offering an idea of what a good opponent would be.

Name me what would be BIG fight for Brook in September?

Kessler got 5,000 tickets to flog and I think that the only way you can get one of those in Denmark is by signing on to a package....thats quite a travelling contingent under the circumstances

Luke Campbell is almost as big as Peter Levy in Hull- this will sell out.
