Seems like a solid fighter Murray.

Decent skills and big and strong at the weight.

I think he will be will competitive in this fight and make Sergio work hard for the win. I see him maybe being stopped late or losing a close but clear decision.

    What do you think?

I think he is a big strong guy at 160 who throws a few punches and will keep coming even if he is a bit crude. I think he will probably put in a similar performance as those given by Barker and Macklin. A solid if unspectacular account with a late stoppage

Think he gets dominated and knocked out.

  4. I watch in hope not expectation

Sergio is too fast and varied for Murray

To make the final bell would be a success

Why do you think it will be so close?

It depends what you view as doing well? Barker & Macklin were competitive with Martinez but they got stopped. Chavez wasn't competitive and lost every round but almost stopped him. I can't see Murray doing either of those. Murray looks durable but has never been hit by a world class puncher. I think he gets stopped between 6-9 rounds.

I think he'll do well and will make Martinez work hard but, I can see him getting stopped in round 10.

I think he may go the distance, but am hoping against hope for something better.Neither Macklin nor Barker have beaten a world class middleweight or even fought one before Sturm{Barker}or Martinez and Sturm[Macklin}I think, and hope, that Murray can take a better punch than the other 2 and just hope he catches Sergio at the right time.He is 38 and for me never been a Monzon.

Yes but Barker & Macklin did have allot more pedigree going into those fights. World level amateurs, won European titles faced some decent guys. Murray really only has one fight of note, all be it a good result. But his best win is still Nick Blackwell!

Lost count how many times I've said it now, I seriously think he can win. He's a lot bigger than Martinez and is fresh and hungry.

Sergio is old, injury-prone and has all the pressure on him.

If Martin does pull it off don't anybody say that no one was expecting it.

Take your points. The win over Blackwell looks good now when up against Billy Joes showing against the same guy,but I suppose you'd say Blackwell is a better fighter now he's got a few more fights behind him.I just think Murrays got a bit of a tougher look about him than the other 2,bit more hard edged.I say this as somebody who'd really like Barker to do well too.Trouble with me,I keep looking back to the days of Minter,Finnegan,Sibson,Graham. All of whom beat world class men in non title fights.

Disagree. Billy Joe is a lazy light middleweight that didn't take the Blackwell fight or his career seriously.
