Think he will give a decent account of himself but Martinez will be to much for him. Mid to late round stoppage.

Would be one of the best British wins ever for Murray to go there and win

No. I think his lack of any real movement kills his chances. I feel he'll be a statue when he gets hit by Martinez's peppering shots and he isn't a banger like Chavez jr who can take him out of his rhythm. Martinez KO around 10

    Will be interesting:
Martinez looks a little shopworn the last year or so and Murray is a bigger middle than Macklin and Barker, he may not have the overall pedigree of those 2 but you can't really match skills with a guy like Martinez anyway unless you are elite level.

Murray will do well here - I can see the pressure of fighting at home having an adverse affect on Martinez..... I mean for all his experience how many fights has he had in front of a screaming legion of his own people, he could get very antsy and chase a ko.
Murray has that sturdy no nonsense way about him that you need in this kind of situation, he won't be the least bit intimidated.
I can see Murray taking alot of flashy stuff early on but catching the majority on a tight guard and making it uncomfortable for sergio down the stretch. Martinez will win by 3/4 rounds in fact but the judges will have it by 7/8.

Sorry to the lads I didn't mention who gave Murray at least a chance. The general consensus is that he's got none, but IMO Sergio overrated at his best, never mind now.Think Martin will push him,go the distance.Lets hope for a bit more.

  8. Very harsh and probaly unfounded

Would be interested to hear the facts you have to be able to confidently confirm he is a lazy fighter who hasnt taken his weight, fights or carear seriously

Firstly as you know if you fight, the pace billy works at with his fast hands and feet is exhausting. To keep that up at the rate he comes out of the blocks would be extremely tough.
Add in the tibbs, trainers who wouldnt accept slacking
And the fact he has completed 12 rounds with pryce, blackwell and hall.Im not sure there is any FACT behind this

He is probaly a typical lazy teenage olympian, british and commenwealth champion though

I'm hoping that Martinez becomes old overnight and Murray ends up stopping him or getting the decision.

Can't see it mate, Sergio may be getting on but he is still class and a level above Murray, lets not forget that in his last outing despite the drama of the last round he beat the **** out of Chavez who was a lot bigger than him and he showed no signs of getting old.

Its a very tall order for murray to make it to the last round let alone win.

I think he'll lose but on points. Sergio is a clear class above but he is aging and Murray is tough so I think he can stick in there and take some rounds off him.

Should be a fun fight to watch but Murray really has the odds stacked against him.

If Lirva says Martinez, I'm going Murray all the way.

He will do as well as Martinez lets him.
