:huh I've got to disagree with this. He clearly didn't do as well as Walcott did against Louis. I think Walcott would have beat up Braddock in a fight, probably a wide decision.

He was fighting Louis in his prime, and showed the canny counter abilities early on when he decked Louis, again, a prime version.

Like Walcott he had his moment in the sun when having already had a career, and a pretty spotty one at that.

He doesn't have Walcotts feet, no. He played more into Louis' game and did as well as Walcott did in their second fight, in terms of the result.

If he'd faced the Louis of the first Walcott fight he'd have his share of moments I'm sure.

I am serious. Why would I care to bait you? My opinions on Walcott aren't based around yours pal.

Since you're serious.. why not make a thread about it and a poll.. See what others think... Braddock > than Walcott.. BWAHAHAHHAHAAHH. You're right about one thing.. Thankfully your opinion on Walcott isn't based around mine or most people for that matter. That is a good thing ;)

That is a prety good argument for Schmeling being better than Walcott, but I can't extend it to Braddock.

Louis was still pretty damn incredible when fighting Walcott, it just so happens that Walcott used his movement and picked his spots to avoid Louis' combinations.

Louis didn't have the chance to adapt and come back with an improved game plan, like he does in all of his rematches. He caught Braddock with a good shot and ended it right there. If he did have a rematch, you better believe Braddock would've been stopped even sooner.

Well, stuff like this is entirely hypothetical. Braddock clearly couldn't take Louis' best shots. He didn't have Walcott's durability or his movement.

It's just silly to think Braddick would do any better.. he was sparked.. and the fight wasn't nearly as close. True Louis was more prime for that fight.. but walcott was clearly a big foil for Louis no matter when they fought him.

Corrupt; Why would I start a poll or care what anyone else thinks? And 'most people' don't agree with your over inflated perception of Walcott's ability either, unless they're as misinformed/easily swayed by aesthetic quality/******s.

Janitor, Louis was at his best after Schmeling beat him the first time.

Tommy; no, Louis wasn't still 'pretty damn incredible'. Comparing the bloated and past prime Louis with the version that won the title is not only nonsensical, it's spasticated.

    Let's keep overrating Walcott though.

Yeah, the consensus appears that Walcott is numero uno but alot of people where tearing into him in the very good or great thread. Had alot of very flashy, cute moves, very tricky footwork, good at reeling in opponents and countering. On the flipside his style was put down to split second timing that went against him on more than one occasion with his somewhat sus chin, could be outworked, beaten by far lesser boxers etc.

If a past prime version of Walcott was pitted against the Louis of the Braddock fight I seriously doubt he'd have as much success as did Braddock.

You think Walcott was more durable than Braddock?

Yeah, i'll x2 all of this. Louis was very good when Walcott met him though, no doubting that.
